Which of these has accomplished the most in the sport during their respective careers? Since I'm a big Hopkins fan, I'll run down some of his accomplishments. I didn't see Calzaghe fight for the first time until he was 34. So Calzaghe fans can feel free to list his accomplishments

    Hopkins's accomplishments

    -20 consecutive MW title defenses

    -undisputed MW champ

-First super unified champ(WBC/WBA/WBA/IBF unfied champ)

    -2 division ring magazine champ

-The sports first and only Mega champ(WBC/WBA/WBO/IBF/Ring/lineal champ, as well as Ring Magazine's no.1 rated p4p fighter; all at the same time)

-Gave future HOF'ers Oscar De La Hoya and Tito Trinidad their only stoppage losses

    Well...this is a pointless thread, isn't it?

You'd have to be a nutty nuthugger of Calzaghe to say he's accomplished more...:huh

If he sticks around for more than he's saying, he'll end up accomplishing more.

Nice leaving out the embarassing losses to Jermain Taylor and Hopkins' shitty overall competition with all of those belts and merit's.

Calzaghe is too smart/proud to stick around too long. He cares for that "0" more than for anything. He won't risk it, not for any amount of money; it's his pride and joy.

Please explain how these would be accomplishments? As far as Hopkins' comp., what MW did he not fight during his stay there that you he think should've fought?

serious question. are these actual recognised terms used by boxing magazines/journos/websites/boxing broadcasts etc.

or something you've just made up? :huh

I made those terms up. Mega champ is one I certainly made up. The WBA, however, does have different terms for fighters who have 2,3 or 4 major belts. I Thought it was more concise than naming all of his championships as individual accomplishments.

No, he fought everybody he should have, all I'm saying is that you listed out all of those belts and merits to make his comp look better, including those two extremely overrated victories over former Welterweight's, without even wanting to be unbiased towards some of the negatives.

    But here is my take.

As it stands, Hopkins has accomplished more, not by a whole lot, but by a reasonable amount. Calzaghe obliterating him and then beating Dawson, would sky rocket Calzaghe over him, that is all.

Because Hopkins is about to get raped in the ring for the first time and they can't stand that it's going to be the criminally underrated Calzaghe and not some easy to relate to American fighter who they've been mouth fed from day 1.

That's why the hopkins fans are re-assuring themselves. Us Calzaghe fans are having a field day toying with them.:yep

    Sure - Hopkins.

But if Calzaghe beats Dawson and say Pavlik the would be on even terms with Calzaghe edging a bit a head I would say.
