Well, here goes Bernard and Co. shooting their mouthes off about potential mega-fights that simply will never happen. First Hopkins goes about talking up a potential fight with Adamek for the Cruiserweight title. The boxing world begins to get excited and then what? The potential match-up flames out over Golden Boy's low-ball offer to the Adamek camp (which Shaeffer claims now was 1.2 million, but which has been reported as about $400,000.) Then, talk boils up about a potential Tito Trinidad rematch, which may have been the most preposterous idea in recent history. Hopkins, of course, schooled the then undefeated Trinidad before his father stopped the fight in the 12th. That was back when both were in their primes. After Tito unsuccessfully made 2 come backs over the last 4 years (getting spanked by Winky Wright and then Roy Jones Jr), it would seem he has absolutely no chance of even making the fight interesting. So Bernard lets those rumors simmer for a week before shooting them down. Next, talk of Bernard going back down to fight Super Middleweight Champion Karl Froch is the hot ticket. This match seems like perhaps the most logical from the stand point where Bernard would get close to the money he seeks and the fight would be historical in adding another title from a different weight class (his 3rd). That talk has seemingly gone nowhere as well. Now duche bag Shaeffer begins talking about Hopkins fighting David Haye for the Heavy weight title! This is pure bull****. Golden Boy wants us to believe that Haye will beat Wladimir, then fore fill his contract by rematching Wladimir, beating him again and then beasting Vitali. Let's just say "The Haymaker" somehow manages to beat Wladimir 2x and Vitali 1x. We're talking at least mid-2010 before the training camp for a Hopkins vs Haye fight would take place. At Hopkins age, would he really be up for this? Would he really want to **** with a guy who pasted the Klitschkos 3x? Golden Boy is so full of **** it makes me sick! And people thought Don King was bad for boxing.
I have it on good authority from a respected American journalist that Hopkins wanted no part of Adamek, hence the derisory offer
I was called a nationalist for this same type of thread. Maybe they will be easier on someone with RJJ in there name. Hopkins is FULL OF ****!
you re absolutely correct dude , but wait till B-hop Fanatics notice ur thread , theyll come here to bust u up they'll tell u the truth that it was adamek who turned down the 1.2mil offer just to fight a bum on shobox , and that haye is duckin b-hop by moving to hw to fight the worst heavyweight champ ever. also remember that b-hop won the calzaghe fight, every single american kid knows him and he's a LEGEND , and for SURE he aint duckin dawson , oh and i forgot He's A legend so how the fuk u can type all these BS
I would be shocked if Hopkins ever fought Haye. Just an incredible size difference, and Hopkins is nearly 45 and doesn't need the fight.
I would definitely like to see it! Roy Jones Jr vs Bernard Hopkins "End of the Road". The final bout for both and who knows? Jones may surprise you. He did beat Bernard with one hand back in 1993.
BHOP should just retire now he is 43 and getting to old. Haye would **** him in 3 rounds. I was interested in BHOP vs Toney at HW just as an pseudo-exhibition fight for nostalgia or a fight with RJJ could be tasty.
Hopkins should fight Toney, if anyone, at Cruiserweight, that is if the fat ******* can even get back down to 210 pounds.
People said the same about Hopkins when he said he wants to fight the winner of Tarver/Johnson II. People claimed he's hoping Tarver loses so he can beat Johnson again but if Tarver wins he'll run away from it, you know what happened. Don't underestimate Hopkins' decisions, when he says he wants to fight someone he means it. He was the one who called Adamek out and started the negotiations, Adamek is unknown compared to Hopkins and should have taken the risk, if he won he would get massive opportunities for good money, if Hopkins wins it does NOTHING for him, yeah it will improve his record but who will give a damn? Adamek should have taken the risk if he wanted big money after it.
Nah... i wonder who the last BHOP opponent that settled for that kind of money is? and i wonder why hopkins went on to lie about how much he offered. keep on spinnin'
