Which is ironic considering BHop constantly talks about how intelligent he is, and how he isn't one of those guys that can't talk in complete sentences because he is unable to think in complete thoughts due to the damage his brain took in the ring.

But since Hopkins probably woke up today, watched his fight on his DVR, and was completely humiliated by the way he acted, he'll be ready to go life and death with Haye which will be a huge mistake.

Hopkins is a master boxer, and Haye makes several technical mistakes, and isn't the product he could be, but the fact is, Hopkins is too old, and Haye ain't Pavlik.

Haye is a HUGE puncher with ridiculous handspeed. He's also a guy who can feint and box. He's not a guy who will come at you like a robot, throwing 1-2's, and he's a guy that can take your head off with one punch.

Not to mention the fact that he'll be stronger than Bernard in the clinch, and Bernard isn't the puncher he may believe himself to be.

It's true that Haye has a questionable jaw, but against guys who are bigger punchers than Hopkins, and Haye has also had time to get used to his weight as he's now been a heavyweight for some time.

Hopkins will do what he normally does, feint, duck, and clinch. But eventually Haye will catch him with some overhand rights or some lead left hooks.

And Hopkins will be a in a world of pain because Haye is a serious heavyweight puncher. This isn't some Sam Peter type of guy we're talking about. This is a guy that can move, has incredibly fast hands, and can make you see spots with every punch.

I give Hopkins credit for his bravery, but if I were him I would hang it up before I fight Haye.

But the thing is, like I said, Hopkins is going to be looking for redemption and Haye is the wrong guy to look for it against.

Cuz if Hopkins fights Haye, he might end up bein one of those mush heads he's talkin about.

You realize that this is the fight Hopkins said he wanted in the interview after his fight with Roy, right?

    He said, I want Haye.

That is a sad sight - Hopkins being brutally KO'd by Haye. Hopkins might be a defensive genius, but even genuius' have flaws.

I'm not so sure about Bernard taking the beating of his life although one punch from Haye can turn the tides. B-Hop always suffocates his opponents with his awkward footwork and defense and clinching after throwing combinations. Haye isn't really that much bigger than him anyway.

I don't think this fight should happen anyway because Haye need to establish his legacy beating heavyweights. B-Hop is looking for another big payday. B-Hop need to fight Dawson for his last fight if he wants to further his legacy.

Well I think beating Haye will further his legacy more than a fight against Dawson, don't you?

I mean, nobody can really call him a ducker if he fights Haye instead of Dawson can they?

Dawson vs Hopkins would be a boring affair.

    This thread is irrelevant.

Haye and his trainer Adam Booth both dismissed any chance of this fight happening earlier on Sky Sports.

i don't buy that "fear for his life" crap. He might get stopped but its not the end of the world if a fighter gets stopped once in his entire career.

Hopkins would actually be competitive against Haye. People need to learn to stop underestimating Hopkins. When has Hopkins ever taken a beating? Trinidad, Tarver, Calzaghe, and Pavlik were all supposed to destroy Hopkins. 3 of those guys ended up getting destroyed by Hopkins. Calzaghe won, but looked bad in doing so. Haye is not good enough to destroy a guy like Hopkins. Haye is smart in dissmissing the idea of this fight. He would have nothing to gain and everything to lose.

I agree that Haye is not as good as he could be technically, but in so far as his physical attribues, IE speed, movement, and power are concerened, he's the real deal.

The guy is a gun slinger and Hopkins isn't as quick at ducking punches that he used to be.

I think Haye will land one of those bombs or even punch through Hopkins guard. He's that type of puncher, and he's got the speed to land on Hopkins.

While I agree Hopkins will make him look dumb, eventually Haye will land, and it only takes one.

And from a legacy perspetive, you're right, Hopkins has nothing to lose, but from a 45 year old taking a beating and getting brain damaged cuz he's too stubborn to stay down, he has a lot to lose.

Laugh all you want. It amazes me how impressed some of you guys are with Haye beating up chumps. Haye is a talented fighter, but if you think he would just walk through Hopkins you are mistaken. People have been saying Hopkins is past it and ripe for a beating for almost a decade now.
