Floyd said a lot of bull****.

He said, "I'm fighting Baldomir for the lineal belt." When people were asking why he didn't fight Margarito.

Now he says, "Belts collect dust."

Mayweather talks too much. The only reason he's giving Dawson any credit is he knows he'll never have to fight him.

But don't get me wrong, Dawson isn't bad. He's good. But he ain't the **** that people are tryin to make him out to be.

Come on man, Hopkins when he 5 yrs younger couldn't even beat Taylor, and looked like **** last night against a very shot Jones, he would get a beating no matter who he fought between Dawson And Haye.

    And come on man, Klitschko.

Klitschko does have skill, but honestly, who is he fighting?

Let's be realistic. He hasn't fought nobody. But I don't even wanna get into that. Tell me about Klitschko after he fights Haye.

You need to rewatch that fight.

Hopkins was beatin the **** outta Taylor starting in the 10th round. He took over the fight in the 6th up, and it's not like Taylor was landing **** before that. It was all flash.

Hopkins almost had Taylor knocked out in the 11th. To be honest, I wouldn't gripe if they gave Hopkins a 10-8 round in the 11th.

If it was a 13 round fight, Taylor would have been KOed.

And this was a prime Taylor.

And Taylor and Dawson aren't really comparable. Dawson is a defensive fighter, and Taylor at that point in his career liked to pull the trigger. He fought Hopkins like a gun slinger.

And if you check my other thread about BHOP, I argue that he fought the perfect fight against Jones given the circumstances.

Well if the "you punch, I punch" ends up with only one guy landing and the other missing, it is domination. And don't forget that both Hopkins and Dawson scored a knockdown vs Tarver late in the fight. Dawson landed as frequently as Hopkins did on Tarver (don't make me go find compubox stats) and they both scored knockdowns.

Both wins were equally dominating, but it's the fact that most people expected Hopkins to lose that made the win look that great. Whereas, most people expected Dawson to beat Tarver handily, which he did. And they didn't really 'need' a rematch, I don't think many people would have doubts or complain if the rematch never took place.

Dude with out an Incompetent ref, to help him like he sadly needed against a corpse last night, he will gas and get his ass kicked, which is exactly what will happen against Dawson, Hopkins fights in spurts yet he still needs rest breaks, all Dawson has to do is turn up the pace and Hopkins will look for a way out. As for last night if Jones hadn't fought Green I don't think he would've been so Gun-shy, which leads me to think that Bernard ain't that good at 45.

If I recall, Hopkins got the knockdown in the 4th round.

And you punch I punch don't don't really make for a good fight when the majority of hte punches are on the gloves.

Which was exactly what was going on.

Actually, go into compubox stats. Cuz Hopkins hit him clean. I don't care what compubox says, because of Dawson's punches landed on Tarvers gloves.

I mean, you obviously didn't even watch the fight against Hopkins vs Tarver, so why are you tryin to argue with me about a fight you never saw?

    Isn't that ridiculous?

You're the one that quoted Mayweather not me.

And after I quoted him too you're saying his words don't mean much?

He's by far the best p4p fighter north of 147.

Anyway, I don't got time for this.

I'll end it with this, Hopkins does things in the ring that most people don't understand which is why he's a better fighter than Dawson at this point. The things he did against Jones was all part of his game plan as a result he wiped him clean on the score cards.

    No question about that.

I got a thread right now floatin out there titled, People say Hopkins is shot, but he fought a perfect fight...

But the whole point is, Hopkins won't beat Haye. And that's the point of this thread.

    I'm goin to bed.

The Fact that he needed an Incompetent ref, fouls and rest breaks against a very gun-shy and shot Roy Jones, tells anyone with any sense all you need to know about Hopkins, Dawson would kick his ass, and he would likely lose to Ward, and definetly Direll.

Well do you want me to go to compubox or don't you? :think

Compubox doesn't count punches that land on the gloves, so the numbers concern punches that hit the body or face.

I did the work for ya.

    Hopkins 133 - Tarver 78.
    Dawson 207 - Tarver 119.

Yeah, Hopkins dominated Tarver, Dawson didn't.

I've watched both fights. What's ridiculous is you trying to degrade Dawson for being one-dimensional when he's clearly one of the best fighters out there, and your need to defend Hopkins like someone accused him of anything. Hopkins is a great fighter.

And you should learn that when debating you should actually respond to what the other poster tells you, not assuming things and make accusations with an attitude.

Hopkins never tested the waters above light heavy weight and honestly this could be a dangerous move for hopkins. Hopkins wants haye because its in house promotion since Haye sign with GoldenBoy so it makes perfect sense.I don't believe Hopkins can carry the weight at HW on him for 12 rounds just due to his age. I think he should just retire since he got his so called revenge because theres nothing to prove !!!
