yeh i mean trinidad, 40-0 trinidad, the most destructive fighter of that time. you can talk all you want about him coming up but he could no longer make 154, and he already knocked out joppy at middleweight, and went on to KO mayorga at middleweight. hopkins put on a boxing masterclass. so if the hopkins vs pavlik fight took place at 160 do you think the result would have been different, hopkins made pavlik look like an amateur, the fighter calzaghe decided not to fight and instead fight roy jones.

what argument are you trying to make, because the klitschko's weigh more their going to win, well just go watch haye vs valuev, you make arguments that aint worth debating because their so stuped.

hopkins has never been hurt in a career lasting over 20 years, he isn't someone who is going to hang his chin out waiting to be hit. he would box haye and the klitschko's silly.

Good points, i'm on you're side now. Hopkins KO1 Haye and both Klits on the same night. You're logic is flawless.

My apoligies then. I was thinking you were hating on the man no matter on which perspective in this and other threads.

We all know he is well conditioned b'cause his body structure is kind of skinny and then he has the proportions to display his will and skill at these weight classes MW SMW LHW - I wouldn't go to HW or even CW cause he needs to put on muscle and that may redifine his structure and affect deeply his display. This thing about conditioning is what the eye can see and the mind can perceive, very common, very general knowledge on such matters. If people used to say he was well conditioned for MW, they can't say he's not well conditioned for LHW now!

Now and on the display itself, if the conditioning talk says too little for you ( for me it meant a win over RJJ and plenty of others) - Bernard has stamina but he can't fight like a bully anymore, not like against Segundo Mercado back in the days... He didn't even fight that way against Jones in 93 cause he likes to take his time and step in consistently, effectively aggressive. Happens that if you take a fight to a guy who doesn't fight, you may run out of wind. Don't know if that was the case but that's what Floyd Mayweather Jr expects opponents to do, run out of wind that is. I find smart that Bernard takes breaks and makes best use of the rest to keep on going and winning the bouts. Means that he's thinking whether you like it or not.

Oh yes, he has a business in the ring with these young fighters cause you said it yourself along with my thinking... These young guys have to come and dismantle Hopkins and they may pay the price in doing so, meaning getting outworked, meaning running out of wind themselves, that's why defence is so important for an ageing Hopkins. What I said is that Hopkins has no business in the ring with a taller, stronger, heavier, faster, more powerful young man like Haye, that is not defying the odds, that's stupid and dangerous... He should stick to LHW and then call it a day. Not now tho, now it's Roy who has to go!

Hopkins wasn't 45 years old. And I don't care how destructive a welter/middle Trinidad was, he sure as **** didn't punch like a hard punching heavyweight.

Haye was younger, quicker, fitter and more skilled than Valuev.

How many of those advantages does Hopkins have over Haye?
    None.
Hayes biggest flaw is his chin really. When was the last KO Hopkins had?
And he's been fighting at middle and light heavy.

He just went 12 with Jones. Danny Green - in reality a light heavy with heavy hands - walked straight through Jones and stopped him in 1.

Hopkins just won't be able to hurt Haye. So how does he win?

Hopkins has been a great fighter, but I don't see any advantages he holds over Haye that mean a damn. He's get better ring sense and skills, but that's not going to count for much against a man so much bigger, younger, faster and more powerful. Haye's not a supremely skilled fighter at all, but he's no mug.

Yep. If those 3 weren't allowed to hit him hard.
