Hopkins Vs Jones II - The Rivals (Video)

Man after reading the training notes and interview with Merkeson, it almost sounds like a death sentence for Jones. He doesnt seem to keen on Jones fighting. I hope Jones moves alot in this fight and doesnt get slaughtered. I think if he uses a lot of movement and keeps the fight in the center of the ring, he can pose some problems for Hopkins.

 

The build up is far more entertaining than the fight will be! Tragic!

 

I may well be in the minority here, but I actually don't think it's going to be as one sided as most people are predicting. Those expecting Roy to get seriously hurt, are overlooking the style of Hopkins and what he (Hopkins) prefers to do best. Yes Roy may be subjected to a points loss, but no way will Hopkins put a brutal beating on him.

I'm looking forward to this fight, because despite it taking place at the wrong time, it still possesses a strong historical significance to it

 

Well it just depends how far gone Jones is. Stylistically Jones should have a chance. Hopkins doesnt hit hard, doesnt throw a lot of punches and Jones is a lot faster, but his chin and ability to take a punch have severely deteriorated, so Jones has to keep that in mind and use movement and stay off the ropes.

Roys clearly at the end of his career,been knocked out 3 times already,Bernard wants to put him out of his misery ,Bernard just wants to be the final man to beat him and finally end his career,

That would give B-hop the ultimate satisfaction

 

This is better than the actual fight will be. For their sakes I hope they both retire after this. The sooner the better so they can get in the HOF sooner.
