Hopkins vs. Kessler

Obviously you think little of this old version of Bernard - fair enough.

 

Does anybody remember a couple of years ago when pretty much everybody was calling Hopkins shot after he beat Wright? I was around on the forums at that time and this was pretty much the consensus. Hop won that fight but apparently looked so awful in doing so that we were never going to see the great Hopkins again. I never understood it.

Why insult Kessler? Whilst most fighters are ducking and protecting their status', Kessler is touring America trying to get anybody relevant to fight him, which he cannot seem to do. He has one loss in which he represented himself very well, and has dominated almost everybody that he's been in the ring with. He's a nice guy and represents the sport of boxing well. It's when you guys start dismissing fighters like Kessler that you make the non-Americans who say Americans jerk off to the Star Spangled Banner appear like they have a point.

Ahhh. Apologoies for the rant then.

Anyway my view is that Hopkins is a much better fighter than Kes, obviously, but at this stage I think Hop is too old and meek to beat Kessler. Mikkel has one of the best jabs in boxing which he would keep taking rounds with. It's very hard to 'take away' someones jab without imposing yourself, which is not what Hopkins does these days...
