Unfortunately I see too many problems for Mikkel.

I think he would really struggle to get a jab going. When Hopkins circles, you either have to take the fight to him or hit thin air. He's quite happy if nothing is happening, so you are forced to engage him and take risks. I think Mikkel would struggle to find a foundation for his offence without a jab. And I don't think he's that comfortable trying to come forward all the time. I see Kessler falling shorts with jabs and Hopkins leaping in with counter rights and then holding.

Hopkins UD. Closer than Pavlik due to the speed and defence difference of the two.

Very well sayd.... In my oppinium, here kesslers best skills:

    1. His Accurate! He can jump back, make hopkins come, and bam! Uppercut in his face. He never miss a uppercut, and they allways land hard!
    2. His long range skills. He can outbox hopkins with jabs, while hopkins cant hit kessler. So Hopkins will try to enter kesslers territory, and BAM theres the upercut from kessler again.
    3. He dont lose hit temper. Well, in the last round vz calz, he did, but that was only because he needed the KO.

    Here's where kessler need practice:

    1. A bit more experience, in how to react vs a fighter that change tacs in later rounds. Like vs calz... He was in the fight untill round 6, then calz changed style and kessler totaly lost track of boxin.

    2. When kessler serious hurt a opponement, he dont finish it. I think i has to much patience, he waits to long, and that time is enough for the opponement to recover! The animal we saw in round 12 vz calz, is the beast he must be able to turn on when a opponement is hurt!

Kessler, by KO,,,,,,This guy to me is the closet loss i seen joe fight it,,, i mean i seen joe struggle, but kessler got the best upper-cut in the game, his great,,,he fast, an throws punchs,,,,an no hopkins did not almost beat him, he faked a low blow to stay in the fight,,,were joe needed to do things to win a fight,,,,if i was kesslers people i would be chasing down hopkins, offering him 60 to kesslers 40, let it be in the US,,,kessler wins this, an gets a gig on HBO, which is worth a lot

    Hopkins UD.

He will neutralize Kessler's best weapon with his ring mastery and make Kessler fight another fight.

    Kessler pts.

I think Kess gives Hop trouble the same way Taylor did, I think his jab will be a problem, he wont be able to man handle Kess like he did middlweight Pavlik and the workrate of Mikkel which is v good wont do Bhop any favours either, I see a close pts win on behalf of Kessler.

What gave Hopkins trouble against JT was not only JT's solid jab but the threat of a combination following those jabs. That kept Hopkins constantly on the defensive. Kessler hardly throws combinations from the few fights i've seen of him. So that's one less thing for Hopkins to worry about.

Kessler is no box of tricks, but he does let his right hand go, he can def throw combinations.

That's my point. He's very straight forward and predictable. That's a no-no against Hopkins.

Hopkins UD, unless his arms just drop off from being too old.

Kessler is a straight line fighter, Hopkins would take away his jab, he would love it. The sooner the Kessler bubble bursts the better. You would have thought that being beaten convincingly by Calzaghe would have done that, but it's strangley gone the other way.

Jermain Taylor is pretty much a straight line fighter aswel. Kessler will match him for strength, have better speed and workrate, Hopkins hasnt been a comfortable 12 round fighter in a long while, especially when he isnt controlling the pace.

    Kessler takes it.

It should be a great match up. Half the fans thinks Hopkins wins, and the other half route for Kessler. Who is the best?. Only answer is the ring !

Well this video comparison has ben done loads of times before - especially by the poster formerly known as Amsterdam.

But here we go again and please note the speed AND skill difference. There's quite a gap between these fighters technically and in overall skill.
