My money would be on Hopkins, Kessler was far from impressive in his last fight against Calzaghe. I thought Kessler had a couple really good opertunities to take adavantage of Calzaghe when he left himself wide open, but Kessler couldnt pull the trigger. I also was surprised to see how hurt Kessler was from a body shot the light punching Calazaghe landed on him, Hopkins even at this stage in his career is more powerful Calzaghe. I see Hopkins really toying with him and using rough house tactics to disrupt Kesslers fight plan, I see Kessler winning rounds early but falling apart late in the fight, when the smokes clear I see Hopkins winning a pretty close decision.
hopkins by ud kessler will miss and get counterpunched all day and if he does connect he will fail to follow through like he did against joe
fighting a young, strong guy who was his own size (Taylor) is as daring as Hopkins has been....and he got beat twice. Kessler is bigger and better than Taylor....he kicks Hopkins' arse.
Prime Hopkins eats Kessler alive, no lateral movement from Kessler, it wouldn't even be close. Today Hopkins could do the same thing to a lesser degree, because Kessler can't move laterally, so I don't see him losing to Kessler, even at this advanced age.
kessler would be the biggest and strongest fighter hopkins ever faced. sorry tarver. it would be interesting but in the end I think Kessler has too much snap on his punches and hopkins isn't exactly a moving target.
:huh Actually Hopkins IS a moving target, has been his entire career. That is one of the only things that looked good in the Winky Wright fight, his ability to move laterally.
