Hopkins vs. Kovalev, people ACTUALLY think Hopkins can win?

This must be a joke? Kovalev would not only end Bernard's career, but he would take some years off his life with the savage beating he would give him.

This fight would be one way traffic all night.

As much as I dislike Hopkins, I would almost feel bad for him were this fight signed.

There's always a chance Hopkins can win, certainly if the referee lets him use all his "crafty" tricks.

He probably doesn't have more as a 25% chance in reality, but you can't just count the old geezer out (that's the referee's job).

Hopkins is my favourite fighter but even I think he would lose to Kovalev. Hopkins is too old now, he's been rapidly declining in recent years. He's slower than he's ever been, his low weight for his last fight is another sign of his age. If this was the Hopkins that beat Tarver I'd favour Hopkins to win but he is no longer that fighter. Kovalev probably outpoints him, Hopkins maybe old but he's still crafty enough to last the distance.

This fight is a bad idea for Hopkins. The ref would favor him and thus give him every chance as punishment would accumulate round after round.

the fact that a near 50 year old is being talked about as a possible opponent for one of the top lh's in the world is a testament to hopkins imo, people hate on him alot but at least the guy hasent been embaressed like a certain roy jones in the twilight of his career, he can still be very competative

Bernard Hopkins IS one of the top light heavyweights in the world

Kovalev is too slow and one dimensional to touch him. You think a modern ATG hasn't seen what he's got to offer?

    Get outta town

I would not even take the Tarver version of Hopkins to beat him. Hop had to slug it out with Tarver and was cought up in a lot of exchanges on the inside.

Kovalev is too good of a puncher to to meet head on.

Hopkins beat a lot of limited guys, but to his credit looked superb doing it. He was handily beaten by Dawson. A more docile , lighter litting version of Kovalev.

I'll save my thoughts on this match up until Kovalev fights an elite fighter in his division.
