Hopkins vs KOvalev who wins

pretty sure Bernard would dismantle KO4Clev back in his prime days but today hes going to gass out, no doubt about it.

KO4Clev isn't HOF or ATG, no way near it even, despite his recently apparent class. Cant really even class him as elite yet, hes not faced another elite even.

Kovalev's workrate is somewhere between Pavlik's and Calzaghe's. Same for boxing skills, more less. :conf

Hopkins got hit flush a decent amount against Murat.....But he looked very good in his last fight with Beibut....

Kovalev is overrated but still a good dangerous fighter...

 

I think KO4Clev is way better offensively than Calzaghe's powderpuff slaps that often miss, though hes probably not as good defensively, remains to be seen.

its also unlikely he has JOe's reserve energy tank of course.

 

Kovalev will win by TKO. Next best guess Hopkins looks for a way out and looses via Dq or excuse of an injury.

 

Unfortunately I see this fight ending in a DQ or NC. When Hopkins gets in trouble and is unable to fight his way out, he'll create a way out.

 

Some of calls for Hokpins here crack me up. Hopkins was never fast or a big puncher. He can't fight a full three minutes anymore, let alone run away from a relentless and skilled puncher in Kovalev who has tracked down and taken out much faster fighters!

As for Kovalev's skills, they are good. He is fundamentally sound, can speed up or slow down his punches to land, and is quick to take advantage of an opening to the head or body.

In truth, Hopkins had his hands full with lesser guys at 175 pounds. This is a mis-match. Kovalev is going to win via TKO / KO / RTD, or if Hopkins wants a way out via DQ.

 

Hopkins has made a living beating this same type of fighters, over and over and over again. No matter how popular kovalev is, this will end the same
