As much as I'd absolutely LOVE the pre-fight hype and build-up, Hopkins would not be effective at 160 no matter what he claims. He was starving himself to make 160 back when he fought Jermain. It would be worse than Chad was against Ward, weight-drain-wise.

Why not though? Finally we can see Floyd vs. another ATG that hopefully won't be washed up. I would pay good money to see it, Hops knows how to beat floyd, he knows that style and would make it a dirty rough fight IMO. May be a stinker but Floyd would not dominate, that i will bet on.

Weight limits are called that for a reason. Meaning you can't go over them, but you can stay under them as much as you want to...

Actually this is very interesting matchup.that would be amazing if b-hop would win.think about it,floud goes undefeated almost 20years,then meets b-hop and find his daddy's.yes there is huge size difference, but i would still rate that win very highly for b-hop.if floyd would win that would be still cool, beating longtime MW champion and current LHW champion,it would definetly push floyd's rankings all time little bit more.i don't care what haters would say.that's the honest truth.

Also stylewise i think it would be interesting,b-hop is the only figher to have boxing brains to challenge floyd, honestly i could see this going eitherway.

Also i could be little bit bias because floyd and bernard are my two favourite boxers.

And just for laughs if b-hop would win.c'moon it would be hilarious.

Also i know this match will never happen.b-hop is saying this only to stay relevant.
But one think is sure,b-hop got what he wanted, because we are talking about him.
moneywise this would be best option for floyd, but i still think he will never takes this match and b-hop moving to 160 sounds ****** at this point.

Floyd started at 130 pounds there is no need for him to fight at be when he cannot even come in at 154 pounds. Hopkins is looking for a pay day. If he was sincere he would try and fight Andre Ward.

160 is too high for Floyd... He's not even a true 154 pounder when he fights at that weight.

But if it does happen I think Floyd is way too fast for Hopkins and doesn't get hit with anything major and wins by wide UD.

I also wonder this, say the fight does takes place at the MW limit, Hopkins coming at 160 and floyd at 150, is this even possible? I mean I Always thought a weight class started right were the otherone ended, say the weight limit for MW I always thought it would be 154.5 to the limit of 160 and not an ounce more...

When Floyd heard Nard say that he peed himself ROFL He immediately called Leonard Ellerbee saying " How can we get out of this one & still have a little credibility"? Lennie says " Easy Floyd refuse to fight an alien. Till he takes tests & proves he is an earthling we cannot fight him" "Anyway Floyd dearie its a little too late to worry about credibility we screwed all that up ages ago" Floyd said " I know I'll retire again in tears till the bogey man goes away again"

Hopkins is a great fighter but he doesn't belong in the same ring as Mayweather. Floyd can't go up in weight and Hopkins shouldn't be looking for a catch-weight knowing how big he would be on fight night.

Not a legitimate fight and never going to happen. There is more chance of seeing Danny Garcia or Amir Khan against BHop than Floyd. Mayweather knows his body's limits and he won't be pulling a Roy Jones Jr.

    Y'all must have forgot!

Hopkins will be dead at the weight. He was 178lbs in the ring with Murat that's 18lbs he'd have to lose. At this age it's too much to ask.

One of the reasons for Hopkins success at such an advanced age was that by moving up he was able to off set his loss in hand speed and stamina by going up in weight to fight slower and less active light heavies. He'll have serious problems going back down to face such a quick fighter like Mayweather.

Other than the money I can't see why either fighter wants the fight. If Hopkins wins he beat up a small welter, if Mayweather wins he beat a weight drained faded Hopkins.

Hop is almost 50. Floyd would be too quick for him at any weight.

Huge size disparity, I don't see any reason why Floyd should accept the challenge. Hopkins stuns natural LHW's when he fights them, I don't know how Floyd would hold up if he got hit with a flush shot from B-Hop. But I could also see Floyd just being way too quick for B-Hop and box him out into a wide UD.

Hypothetically though if they met at a 161 or 162 lb cachweight, Bernard could put his LHW title on the line I believe? That would really be something to watch, but a bit too far fetched.
