Is this a first? I've never seen a Showtime PPV before.

On the radio they said Showtime is expecting 200K US buys

The cool thing about Showtime PPV's, is if you are a Showtime subscriber, you get to watch the PPV for free. You only have to buy it if you don't have Showtime channels. I wish HBO would do that, but they don't.

It isn't the first time. The last time a showtime ppv happen was in only on Tyson fights.

    in 97, I was 13.

I think you need to get your decades in order gramps. I started watching boxing in 2001, which was last decade not this decade.

anyways i read up that Vargas vs Mayorga was the last showtime PPV, but even that was nearly 3 years ago.

The more I think about it the more I wonder why pascal is taking this fight. I mean no one has ever looked good against bhop, even if he wins he won't look good doing it and will probably get more detractors out of the fight then supporters.

Recognition in the USA/ worldwide, a great name to have a win against on your resume, publicity, air-time and money.

If this is a PPV, then it's going to need a good undercard.

Add in a hot crowd and even dull fights are infinitely better.. Dawson-Pascal was an average fight, but the crowd made it much much better

I was in that crowd and had an epic night. Not a single second of dullness

Honestly I thought it was a great fight. Very close (I had it 6-5) and a nail biter.

I will definately see Pascal vs Hopkins live.

Hopkins is actually one of my all time favorites. Before Pacquiao, Hopkins was my favorite boxer.
