Hopkins had plenty of trouble against Winky who moved up 2 weight classes to make the fight. Could arguably have scored that fight for Winky if you wanted to. Williams was the guy moving up and put on a clinic against Winky at his more natural weight class. The size wouldnt be much of a difference because Im sure no one in there right mind believe Hopkins has the pop to KO Williams (and vice versa) Who wins and by how much?
Hopkins and B-Hop fought a better Winky than Williams did and Williams is a volume puncher so style wise it would of probably been always a harder fight for Winky cause he would of had to use more stamina. B-Hop is too versatile for Williams to beat IMO and styles make fights. Hopkins would do everything Quintana did to Williams but better.
Let me guess all the posters here also scored bhop calzaghe for bhop, lol what a joke, i think the fight is very close i actually should have voted a toss up, williams volume is going to give hopkins a lot of trouble, and hopkins superior ring generalship make it very intersting, but by no means does williams get blown out, some of you guys are absolutely ridiculous and just love bbhop for his name
Has Williams even had a fight Vs. anyone @ 168lbs? (& If so Who?) Even the 100year old B-Hop should be favored over an untested above 160lbs Williams.
You could be right. Hand speed always gave Hopkins trouble. But PW is making a BIG jump in weight. He's going to be way above his ideal weight and Hopkins will take 100% advantage of that. The difference in weight come fight night might be 10-15 lbs. Hopkins will dictate distance and make it an in fight and dominate PW on the inside or stay outside of PW's range. As for pace, PW might have a say in that if he isn't overly affected by the jump in weight and stay busy and keep Hopkins wary at times. But the weight jump is a huge factor IMO. The last two guys that tried to do that against Hopkins got outclassed in Pavlik and Winky. Plus, that lead right hand should find a home very easily against PW. Not to mention the power factor that Hopkins has.
If Quintana was able to outbox PW, Hopkins should have no problem at 170. Do not want to underestimate PW, but it'll be a bigger mistake to underestimate Hopkins.
