Anyone who has watched the Calzaghe fight closely knows that Hopkins put on a defensive show. I've watched parts of the fight in slow-motion and A LOT of what supposively landed did not. If Calzaghe couldn't land a punch then Pavlik is definitely going to have a hard time considering he lacks the hand speed of Calzaghe and fights in a much more predictable manner. It's just a matter of whether or not Hopkins will run out of gas.

No he isnt, vs Taylor Hopkins turned up the heat and put alot of pressure on Taylor in the late rounds. He never put any pressure on Calzaghe which is a sign of slowing down...Hopkins was only about 60% of what he was vs Talyor.

Tarver was actaully about the best fight that Hopkins could have made at that time. Like Hopkins Tarver is an older fighter but more important Tarver doesnt throw many shots.

And the older you get the more likely it is to happen. I think that Pavlik will just have too much for an aged Hopkins to the point where Hopkins could get very old very quickly in there.

Hopkins' only chance in this fight is if Pavlik's chin can't take his one punch power(unlikely) or something strange happens(a bad cut or something to that effect). B-Hop was great in his prime, and he's very good now, but he's one-punch-at-a-time, and now doesn't throw even many of those. He was able to lower Calzaghe's workrate, but that was more on Calzaghe's mindset as a boxer rather than any great effort from Hopkins. Pavlik doesn't have that problem. He is going to come right after him, and keep working, which is all he needs to do to win. Stopping Hopkins is a possibility but I think Hopkins will utilize every trick he can to prevent it, so most likely Pavlik wins a clear UD.

You can add Huki and Tffp to that list as well. Single minded cliques are pretty lame.

Well I gonna put my two cents in here only because as improbable as it may be I think Pavlik will stop Bhop with a late round body shot! I dont think its gonna be a head shot, cause BHop always keeps his hands up, he is afterall a defensive master. Pavlik works more accurate and with better consistency than Calzaghe anyway, so i think the cleaner more effective punching will finally tire Hopkins, i mean he is human afterall.

I respect Hopkins and the fact that he is even taking this fight no matter the outcome cements him as one of greats of all time.

    Pavlik late KO.
