Of course he does. He made it difficult for Calzaghe, which says enough. Pavlik is far slower and more predictable, not as adept inside or particularly adaptable

So yes, he has more than a chance...but its another 6 months in the legs.

I think he does as Pavlik is not nearly a fast as Calzaghe was. Pavlik is a big puncher. He has to land the punchs on Bhop which is extremely hard to do because Bhop uses the shoulder roll so good.

He has a very good chance in my opinion. It really depends on his output.

pavlik will be punching shoulders all night. yes pavlik can KO pavlik is nowhere as fast or skillfull as calzaghe so i can see hopkins being able to dictate the fight and fight for more than 6 rounds and pull off a win.

But pavlik also has a very good chance as he has the power and some speed and hopkins has anpother 6 months in his legs as said above.

B-Hop has a great chance. He was wrote off after the Taylor fights and was an underdog against Tarver and look what happened. Hopkins to teach the young champion a few lessons. As has been pointed out Hopkins defence is immense, lets just hope those 43 yr old legs let him go the distance with aa high work rate.

Well, it certainly won't be a "high" work-rate by any stretch of the imagination

He should be able to land enough clean work on a guy like Pavlik who is defensively inept and a "plodder", whilst hugging on for dear life the rest of the time

He has a chance, but only a small one for me. He made Calzaghe look bad by tangling him up on the inside every time he got close, but Pavlik doesn't get close and throws shots from range, and lots of them. Bernard doesn't have the 1 punch KO power to hurt Kelly imo, is too negative and doesn't throw nearly enough punches. Kelly UD for me.

I think Hopkins power is underated. He put Calzaghe down which Kessler couldn't do, despite landing some good shots (although Kessler does have a much more basic style) and you've gotta think that Kelly will be easier to hit.

Hopkins has a chance. Have to remember Calzaghe is a slippery customer and difficult to nail and also has you in a state of alert with his unorthodox offense.

I see Hopkins putting on a masterclass and decisioning Pavlik, however it wouldn't surprisde me if Hopkins is holding big time in the last few rounds...again.

Yes, very legitimate chance, but in the meantime, if he wins the first 5 rounds by schooling Pavlik, Kelly can still outwork him for the rest of the fight and win on points because of the great workrate and stamina. So Pavlik should be the favourite on points, but if Hopkins can spoil in in the second half and win rounds in the process taking away the jab and landing great counters, he might pull it off... Also, an early knockdown would do the trick. I though Calzaghe won it pretty clearly (115-112 if I give more close rounds to Bernard), but that knockdown in the opener stayed with the judges... so, if not a knockout, at least score a knockdown, judges prefer the big shots.
