What would happen if Pavlik fought Hopkins 3 years ago, when Hopkins was still undisputed MW champion?
I think Hopkins would make Pavlik look like a C grade fighter. He would make Pavlik miss most of his power shots and he could counter with the beautiful lead right hand time and time again. He would win an any unanimous deicison.
Anyone else just love the way Hopkins can throw that counter right hand flush time and time again? It's so beautiful to watch. In the Wright fight, he landed a bunch of those but it was hard to see because they were so close and in a lot of exchanges, both were throwing but Hopkins was getting the better of the exchanges. Even the HBO crew seemed to think Wright was doing better than he actually did except for Max who always seemed to come in and somewhat correct what Lampley and the other guy had to say. In the first round, Hopkins buckled Wright with a clean, right hand land.
