People can say what they want, but Pavlik has never fought anybody close to Hopkins style. His punches are so predictable I doubt he'd land a glove on the old ****, and Hopkins would really rough house him on the inside and have a field day countering The only question is whether Pavlik outworks him down the stretch Hopkins should take a decision.
At SMW? I don't think B-Hop can make 160 anymore... Hopkins by an ugly but wide UD. His speed is still OK, his defense is very good, masterfully takes away the jab (the key in this fight) and very good in landing perferctly timed counter-shots - everything is in his arsenal to make Pavlik pay after he misses... I can clearly see Pavlik going down - nothing huge, but those type of flash KDs that sent Calzaghe and Allen down and rocked Tarver, Winky and Taylor...
I dont think Calzaghe or Hopkins got nearly enough credit for their fight - both enhanced their rep in my eyes - and both would beat Pavlik.
Is this preemptive posting?:think :rofl Big Bone, if Hopkins says some **** about Pavlik being a white boy to the press, no way the judges give him the decision.:hey
Pavlik easy UD.. HOPKINS don't throw ENOUGH punch nw that he is one old *******. that can work vs pitty pat Wright, but it WONT work against Pavlik
Yes, because I know how this place works. It's going to be easy to pick the fashionable unbeaten fighter, rather than the guy that just lost. People don't consider styles, just whos nuts they'd rather suck.
this forum is ruled by british people. If calzaghe has trouble against hopkins then hopkins dominates pavlik
It's the only sensible answer, no? Because Pavlik not only loses to, but gets KO'd by everybody he fights.:yep
First, this fight won't happen because Pavlik is content with remaining at middleweight and Hopkins for physical reasons can't drop down to middleweight. Hopkins in his prime would probably beat Pavlik, but that wasn't the question. Right now, Pavlik would knock him out in the mid-late rounds. Don't forget Taylor beat Hopkins twice and Pavlik dominated Taylor. Think about it: why did Calzaghe get the decision over Hopkins? Because he threw a ton of punches - Pavlik would do the same thing, except Pavlik doesn't slap. His punches actually hurt.
