Personaly I had it 115-113 for Tylor, but final score cards were 116-112 for hopkins and 2 x 115-113 for Tylor, doesnt that mean it was a draw ? 342-342 ?

Thats not how it works. It can be 119 - 109 on one judges card and 115 - 113 on the other two cards and the guy who got the two cards with 115-113 wins by Split Decision.

Scores aren't typically combined across judges. A draw would only happen if all three called it a draw or if one called it a draw and the other two were split.

I'm sure it was an honest question. You get weird scoring rules sometimes for non-title fights throughout the world.

Its not the total # of points you get in aggregate. It is who ever wins over the majority of judges. The reason for this is:

Different judges see the fight differently and score based off of different things. One judge might favor aggression while another might look for accuracy and defensive strategy. Obviously if the one judge scoring a fight on aggression will score most of the rounds for the aggressive fighter, and his scorecard might be a wide victory for that guy. While the other two might see a closer fight with the opponent winning by a small margin based off of their criteria.

Judging isn't about the score - but about how many Judges see the fight one way or another. 2 of the 3 Judges had Taylor winning - so it's 2 to 1 in favor of Taylor - therefore Taylor wins.

Man, I just watched it again the other day and I don't think so. B-Hop surely won the last few rounds, but didn't do hardly **** before the 8th. I can see why people question it though because Taylor didn't do much more in the first half of the fight other than be much more active. Yes, B-Hop was kickin his ass at the end, but it was too little too late.:good

apparently hopkins gets all 10-8 rounds and doesnt need to fight the first half of fights to win

    I hear ya Ill.
I just wanted to re-watch it because it seems lately EVERYONE is saying Hops was robbed. RJJ was saying he thought Hops was waiting for Taylor to gas and KO him late.:huh Never good stategy and Hops def. needed a KO to win by the championship rounds.

Well a big issue is the fact that 1 judge scored the 12th for Taylor.... and you have to admit that is HIGHLY dodgy.

learn how to score fights Rey. You score points by swinging, not by standing, not fighting and relying on your reputation
