    I'd favor Hopkins at 160- /\

Too much craft, too much skill.

So many pockets in William's defense that Hopkins would exploit.

made this thread a while ago...

    in 2009 i prefer paul

maybe earlier in hopkins career he woudl be an easier choice but i dont think bhop would be able to

    1- slow down pauls pace
    2- keep up with it

after 4-5 rounds his age would really start showing

H2H or as is in '09?

    H2H i'd defo favor Hopkins..
    In '09 it's a toss-up, The B-Hop from the Pavlik fight was a monster.
(That said, can B-Hop still make 160lbs?, maybe lure Willy to 168lbs...)

Not present form. Not 160. Nard has problems with fighters who are movers and fighters who are busy....Paul is both. Prime Nard.....Paul gets broken by the later rounds.

If Hopkins struggled with Calzaghe's workrate then he would most certainely struggle with Williams'.

Hopkins can no longer make 160lbs, no way! Bernard will even admit this. Extreme discipline & professionalism permitted Hopkins to campaign at MW for so long! In his last few fights at MW, he struggled quite a bit to make 160lbs!

Fighting at 170lbs or LHW, Bernard weighs between 180-185lbs when he steps into the ring! No way can he make 160lbs. We also have to consider his age even though he's highly disciplined!

Williams boxing skill's are underrated i feel He beats Bhop based on punch output and boxing skil,l all im saying is that Williams is no Pavlik.. but Bhop would make it a close fight.

What does Hopkins do? Take away activity.

What is Williams entire MO based on? Activity.

Can Williams hurt Hopkins or pressure him physically? No.

    Mismatch.

hopkins can take away the activity of a guy who is really one dimensional...

he wasnt really doing that against calzaghe

Hopkins can't make 160lbs anymore, so what do you mean? Either man at their best at 160lbs? Hopkins ices him, hard.

At 170lbs now Hopkins still wins by decision. I'd bet heavily on that one.

How do people know Hopkins CAN'T make 160 anymore? Hell, he made 156 vs ODLH. And he was pretty old then too.

I think he doesn't want to cut weight anymore.

I thought we were talking prime-for-prime. I doubt Bernard even make's 160 now, so it's an irrelevant topic.
