From b-talk.com there is an interview with hopkins saying that he thinks
a fight with lucian bute at 170lbs is a fight that HBO wants and that he'd relish. I personally would love to see it, and I beleive it would end his career. Bute has too much workrate and speed for hopkins at this point
of his career. I hope interbox is listening and takes this fight after Bute KO's miranda.

bute has so much talent. quickness, power, impressive body punching....BUT, he does have some flaws and i'm sure hops thinks he can win an ugly one against him. i don't think he could at this point, but he's going to put it on record anyways b/c why not at this point right??

Doesn't he always. He even suggested he'd go the canada because
he knows he'd cash out bigger in montreal. Bute would beat hopkins now.
No doubt in my mind, and i even think hops knows it. In the article he described how bute would be a challange for him. Bute moves in circles
while firing, and he throws where hops hates it. Downstairs. I would not
at all be surprised if bute were the first to stop the ol' man, and to the body too.

I think HBO is clearly showcasing Bute and Pavlik on the same night for a eventual showdown sometime late summer/early fall. And after last week's debacle, Bernard would be lucky if he is ever shown again on paid TV

I think HBO might be interested in a B-Hop/Dawson showdown though

it would not be a smart move for kelly's first fight as a committed smw to be against bute. thats really the long and short of it...

if bute is smart he will say that bernard aint on his radar...and he'll play with kids his own age. he got a better shot against his like. Bute will be better when he fights some more wars......If he gets past Miranda and not by canadian judge/ref decision...I might even give the cat a nod....

Might not be smart but you best believe HBO will be pushing for this fight if both fighters look good in victory next week. Really, what other options do Kelly have at the middleweight division right now?

If he beats, and that's if, martinez then he has NO options. He is done at 160, and is time to move up. I seriously doubt that kelly could beat bute though. However, he has nowhere to go for big fights but to see the canadian.

Pavlik said he wants two more fights at 160; Williams and Sturm. Plus, there is no real hurry to make a Bute/Pavlik fight. The Super Six isn't even finished with the second round of the round robin.

i agree with you bud, its the best fight out there from butes perspective considering kelly's stated ambition of moving up.

i would looooove to see the williams fight come off, but its less likey to happen. sturm will be a pain to make and god knows where sylvester's belt will be. i would like to see kelly take a fight or two at smw before getting in there with bute. bute is still untested imo against elite comp but he is very talented. there is plenty of time to build up a pav/bute fight for the winner to fight the winner of the S6 considering when the S6 ends. for the fight to happen so soon would sort of **** up the natural momentum of the winners fighting eachother.

they should have some sort of dual card fight w/ kelly and bute on the same night as the S6 championship.
