Excellent post and I can't disagree with anything you've written but...it would be a tremendous spectacle. B-hop knows how to protect himself and he's surprised us before(Trinidad,Wright,Tarver, Pavlik) so I'd like to see what develops. He's not shot yet...YET.

David Haye has just dismissed this fight live on Sky Sports news. He said Hopkins looked terrible and he doesn't deserve a shot at the Heavyweight title on that performance.

Interestingly, and disappointingly, he did not rule out a rematch with Valuev. ****!!! Looks like that is next then.

I'd say Hopkins a did an excellent promoting job last night for david haye!

He is a promoter for golden boy, Haye is a golden boy fighter so him saying he wants David Haye the heavyweight champion makes people who were watching check out David Haye, job done!

He has a chance against Haye because just like Pavlik, Haye telegraphs his punches. But it would require the Hopkins who beat Pavlik, and Haye would have to put on one of his worst performances.

I'd rather see Hopkins retire because I predict he will get knocked out fighting Haye, maybe he should fight James Toney first.

David Haye is the guy who shouldn't be contemplating this fight. His stock can't go up, and it might very well go down with this fight. Hopkins matches up better with Haye than people think. Nobody has ever beaten up Hopkins. Haye has been beaten up by a 40+ year old man before. Guys have made the mistake before of thinking Hopkins is done only to get a rude awakening come fight night. Even if Haye were to completely destroy Hopkins(which I highly doubt would happen), it doesn't advance his career at all. Not many would be too impressed by him beating a 45 year old man coming up two divisions who looked bad against a shot to pieces Roy Jones Jr.

Haye would take Hopkins head off let's be real here, don't think so?
Remove Ruiz from that big 1-2 that dropped him in round 1 and replace him with Hopkins, what do you think would happen?

    Haye ko1.

Now when the hell did Bernard Hopkins become John Ruiz? You think Nard is just going to sit right in front of Haye and let him tee off with 1-2's? It's pretty easy for Haye to look great in there against B and C level fighters.

Haye doesn't benefit from his fight at all.

He wins, he gets no credit and they will say he beat a old, shot Light HW. He loses, well than he stoops down real far in his career.

Jones was on a roll prior to fighting Ruiz and had top notch wins. Hopkins hasnt had a creditable win since 2008.
