Thats why I get infruiated with the majority of people commenting on Pascal. There is only a few I listen to that comment about him on this board and thats because I know they've watched loads of his fights like I have, not just one or two.

 

Hopkins UD for me. something like 117-111, 116-112, 115-113. Pascal has a good punch but he won't ko hopkins and i can't see him wearing down b-hop or outboxing him either. I might even have a bet on this.

Hozumi's Hook - Fair enough lol, don't forget i said /slugger. I'll try and watch a few more of his fights but I know he was trying to counter against Froch and then getting dragged into messy brawls. He was only throwing 60-70 at the start of the fight and then more like 40-50 closer to the end and he has seemed pretty slow on his feet in all the clips i've seen of him. Hopkins has been an underdog in every big fight he's had since JT with evrybody saying the same things and he's not even an really an underdog in this one. i've only ever bet on two boxing fights, thats a tenna on kessler to ud froch and 20 on mayweather to ud mosley but i think am gona put some mony on this one.

 

Is Pascal going to fight with bronchitis and an elbow injury? If he's not, the comparison is pointless.

Pavlik can fight Hopkins 100 times he will lose every single time. Nothing to do with bronchitis - they're in different leagues.

 

Winning record then. I still believe Froch edged it, but I was quite smashed in Nottingham. I need to rewatch the fight.

Pascal has improved every fight and could've beat Froch even back in late 08 if he fought his own fight like he could have.

Don't beleave all of that bs. Whenever a fighter loses in boxing or mma it's always the same thing 'i don't wana make ecsuses but i was not gona take this fight coz i had this really bad injury' and it's always a 180 of what they were saying 24 hours earlier. Like i say pascals only big win was against an inconsistant fighter and don't even bother talking about that diaconu guy i knew pascal would beat him. We'll see what happens am happy to take any avatar bet with people on here.

 

I thought it was a clear win for kessler tbh but half the reason i put the bet on kessler was that he has a good chin and he would at least be good enough to edge him there. i agree with what your saying about the froch fight but that was laziness and bad cv on pascals part he let froch take all the close rounds and it was the first big fight for both men not just pascal. I really fancey a hop ud in a scrapy fight will hold my hands tp if am wrong though.

 

What’s untrue about it? Pascal is very unorthodox, explosive with incredible hand speed throwing from all different kinds of angles. Pavlik is a one dimensional walking plodding statue with a rinse and repeat style. You can’t use the Froch fight as a gauge anymore then you can use the Pavlik fight. Pascal chose to stand in the pocket with Froch, he never had to.

 

Hopkins is still a master of his craft and the only way to slow down a tornado like Pascal is being one step ahead of him. Pascal is fast and heavy handed, but he is fast off his feet, he doesn't have very fast hands. Like someone said he does look predictable, but I don't think it's that easy. Dawson isn't a big puncher, but had enough pop to hurt Pascal and didn't fight with urgency, going after Pascal. Pascal basically is a fighter that punches in bunches like a brawlers would, but what seperates Pascal from most fighters and makes him unique is that he comes at you from angles. If Hopkins does not finish Pascal early in the fight, he will be in for a long night. Hopefully Hopkins makes Pascal pay for punching wide open punches and tires before Hopkins does. One thing for sure, Hopkins will have to bring in one great performance one more time. Pascal is a hell of a fighter, he has alot of heart, but if Hopkins can do it one more time, Hopkins has seen it all and he can beat Pascal.
