i've already said i don't think pav can beat hopkins. having said that...i DO NOT have a short memory and remember how bad the odds (both vegas and on here) were against pav beating taylor in their first fight that if i had bet my house on it i'd own a whole damn city. betting against pav is like betting against the spurs...you swear they are gonna lose but somehow it doesnt happen. having said that i don't think pav will win but i wouldnt put any money on it

 

You picked BHop to UD Calzaghe, so I think your analytical skills may be a bit questionable.

 

Ummm, Hopkins lost a close SD. One that many had him winning (fans, media, other fighters, announcers, etc....). I had Joe by a couple rounds (minus the KD...and I picked BHop by UD as well), but how does that put his analytical skills into question???

You are aware that Hopkins landed more punches and at a MUCH higher % in the first fight? And landed more, and at a slightly higher % (And Taylor only threw 20 more punches total than Bernard in that one) including 41 more power shots in the second fight?

Outthrew Hopkins maybe...but outworked. God that fable is tossed around here so much people still take it as gospel. Sad, really.

I too picked BHop, because I ****ing can't stand Slappy Joe. I thought maybe Hops could squeak past him, but mostly I said that because of all the boneheads who predicted Joe would dominate Hopkins.

Actually, as far as picking Pavlik to KO people, I've only been wrong one time, and that was when he beat JT 116-112. Furthermore, I think a UD over Taylor most certainly qualifies as out boxing him. The only potential opponent that would make me nervous is Kessler. And that is simply a matter of styles.

Pavlik and BHop have the same reach; 75". BHop is much bigger through the chest and shoulders than Pavlik. That most likely means that KP has the longer arms. He is also a very good judge of distance. He'll stay just out of range, and beat the living **** out of BHop.

 

Sweetheart, theres a reason Taylor beat his overrated, Cream of Wheat man lookin' ass TWICE. Of course I saw both of them, the reading of the decisions and the looks on Bernard's face after were PRICELESS!!!:good

If you really feel that way...you have never seen those fights. Plain and simple.

 

I sincerely hope that Pavlik beats the everloving **** out of Hopkins, just to make it two losses in a row to 'white boys'.

 

This is some seriously convoluted logic my friend. when you win a UD over another fighter, especially in a relatively tactical fight, it means you were the more effective boxer in more rounds. I could agree with you in a case of a few knock downs, but in the case of Pavlik/Taylor II you're twisting simple logic into a pretzel.
