This is a fight where Pavlik could look sensational or like a total novice, more likely the latter.

Agreed but its still looks good for him for taking the challenge ..As long as Pavlik doesn't lose like a Lacy he will be fine .

Well knowing Hopkins fans: even if hopkins loses, you all will still say he won...

Pavlik has two high of a workrate for Hopkins....

Sorry but that workrate will get nullified by Hopkins stragedy ..Anyone who's ever out worked Hopkins had speed on their side with Pavlik this is simply not the case ..

    Beat, no.

Maybe run around the ring, throw 10 punches a round, put the entire crowd to ****ing sleep. Win a bull**** fight if it happens. If not, then ***** nonstop about the scoring.

Yep. Pavlik won't rush in with his head down begging to get decked on the way in.

Yeah, I've noticed Pavlik leaves his hands down by his waist most of the fight....:-(

Pavlik has sound fundamentals and has been working on improving his defense.
Why does it bother so many people that it works for him? No Flash = No Good? :huh

after/while throwing punches, yes he is open. Thus why many believe his achilles heel will be a good counterpuncher.

and i understand pavlik has sound fundamentals, I've made a thread before talking about pavlik's skills, that they are underrated and he is not the crude, wide swinging powerpuncher that some people make him out to be.

I also think there's an excellent chance Hopkins wins this fight.

One of the 'adjustments' Calzaghe made against Hopkins was to shorten up his punches. Palvik is already 'ajusted' when it comes to that. I just watched the fight again last night. So, Pavlik has an edge that it took Calzaghe 3 rounds to find. Jsimps has also said that his camp is aware that he still occasionally leaves an arm out after a punch and they are working on that. In the meantime, is Hopkins working on his punch resistance? :-(

Taylors stamina is not as good as KP's nor is his punching power. Taylor let that fight get away from him when he got tired and was swamped by the activity of Pavlik. he did stay out of range versus Taylor, he isn't staying out of range versus B-Hop

hopkins doesn't need to work on his punch resistance. His chin is iron, why would he need to work on it?

Calzaghes feet are also quicker than Pavliks and he was able to close the gap on Hopkins while maintaining a high workrate, as well as having a greater & far more unpredictable punch variety than Pavlik. There isnt one punch in JCs aresenal that stands out, whereas its clear as a day what Kellys best weapon is thus making it easier for hopkins to neutralize him when he's always been a master at that.
