I admit this. I only bash Calzaghe b/c the Calzaghites bash Floyd. I would not analyze every little thing if they did not. It is natural order of things.

Well assuming Pavlik did beat Taylor in the rematch and JC beats Hopkins. Then it's just a case of where will this fight make the most money? Millenium Stadium or MSG or even LV Casino for a PPV audience? We can only hope:yep

This is where you make me laugh

Pavlik is a good fight, but we don't know who the **** Dawson is. He's a nobody, he makes no money, and no name recognition. Basically, it's because he's a yank, and you've been bothered to watch him

If you were sat in our shoes over here in good old Europe, you'd be doing exactly the same thing with Dawson as you are for Kessler. Who the **** is he? Who the **** has he beat? Adamek? :?

    Different perspectives I guess

Nobody. Hopkins/Pavlik/Dawson is the perfect way to finish his career.

I've seen a bit of Dawson and he's an exciting guy. What I don't like about the fight is that he is not the proven fighter Joe needs to be facing, and the potential win would be written off by many just like Kessler. Although I suppose he is fighting Glen Johnson, but he's long signed up to the journeyman's brigade at this point.

For me it would be a more impressive win than Hopkins, RJJ or whoever else, but I'm not sure in terms of respect or money it is worth the increased risk. Many people don't have the mental capacity to analyse fighters, and rely on boxrec, so it makes me question whether RJJ wouldn't be much easier and more lucrative alongside Pavlik

I also think Joe is serious about retiring after 2 more which rules out Dawson. He's got to the point he's so desperate to retire undefeated, he is afraid of losing, like Mayweather. So he is only going to fight big names for big money

In an ideal world I'd like to see him bow out with Hopkins followed by both Pavlik and Dawson in Wales if they would come

  9. This will get massive rating I think and Joe will shock many regular Americans who don't even know the guy exists. This in turn will set up an even bigger fight with Roy at the end of 2008.

I also think Joe will take Dawon too after even though he says 2 more fights. His resume with Jones, Hopkins an Dawson as well as his previous victims? Historians would have a hard time not putting him right up there.

By the same token, the doubters would say Dawson has only beaten an old Glen Johnson (he should) and Adamek who isn't exactly elite. Theres no pleasing some people I suppose . What I'm saying is Dawson might impress you, but you probably know your boxing, and from my perspective of wanting Joe to get maximum respect come retirement I don't see it as doing that

Like I said, after Hopkins I desperately want Joe to fight Pavlik because I see him as a nice stylistic match up. Plus nobody can **** on that win, he's a young undefeated big name

If you asked me how I predict Joe's career ending it would be Hopkins UD, RJJ UD.

  11. This is a perfect point, plus from Pavlik's perspective he'd have everything to gain and nothing to lose. If he beats Taylor then Joe who beat Hopkins he'd brand would go through the roof while there's no shame in loosing to Joe unless he gets lacey'd.

Joe is not a mediocre euro fighter he has cleaned up and became undisputed SMW champion. There are not many undisputed who hold all the recognised belts at once around.
