Yes, but just because he wouldn't have got paid doesn't mean he shouldn't have fought. Or so the received wisdom of Klit-bois goes.
What we do know: David Haye can and has been brutally stopped by a former Light Heavyweight. What we have never seen: Bernard Hopkins stopped period. I don't see why there's reason to believe Haye would brutally stop Hopkins, particularly with his style of waiting and trying to unload big shots.
Brutally stopped? Get to ****, he gassed a novice against an experienced, decent quality champ. As for 'Nard, we ain't never seen him in against an athletic HUGE hitting 222lb fighter neither. We'd never seen him lose to a white boy, remember?
pay the right price????... here is some inside info.... all haye had to do was secure the stadium in the UK and Haye would have got 39%..... thats HUGE... so for Haye to say he wasnt getting paid is a joke.... most voluntary defenses are around 20-25% Haye was at 40% but when haye wouldn't/couldn't secure the stadium, it was Haye who said "you keep your and Ill keep mine" so wlad secured the stadium and took all of the financial risk. Haye lies about the deal to save face
GBP... has a hand on both.. you think Haye isnt involved in this your wrong and is it nessesary to name call me for a discussion.... you ****ing ****:yep
if you say so... but I have inside info and your from England... so yours is questionable as well:good
Without a doubt! :good I mean c'mon guys...were talking about a heavyweight with real serious power vs an old super middleweight that was never even a KO specialist in his own division. Why would Haye have any fear of Hopkins punch power? I know Hopkins got a good chin but I doubt he could take a Haye or Klitchko bomb and stand up.
God you Klitschko queers are so paranoid. Hopkins gives an interview, it's a mass consipracy! Mate, I'm not known for my patriotism when it comes to boxing. Hopkins is my favourite fighter and I travelled to America for the first time to see him beatdown Pavlik. I do admit to supporting Haye though (unlike Calzaghe and Hatton) because of the way he goes about his business. If he hasn't fought a Klit by the end of the year though, rest assured, I will be calling him a ****.:good
I never said anything about a conspiracy. You did:good You know something???:hey:yep just ****ing with you I just dont know what will happen. I think Haye will get stuck with Valuev and then I have a feeling Hopkins, Chagaev, or meehan. Im not sure Haye will jump at a chance to fight a brother in 2010. I hope im wrong.. I guess time will tell.
Yeah, the WBA circle jerk is a problem. He's in a catch 22 as he needs the belt to get a good deal but might not be able to defend it against the people who matter (the Klits). I will be mighty pissed off if he doesn't fight a Klitschko soon though.
I agree with you. I do think he is stuck. The organizations do have unification clauses though. Unification trumps ANY other fight scheduled....BUT... that doesnt mean the WBA will go willingly on it
Hopkins would have to keep away from a hayemaker for full 12 rounds. He avoided the big punchers big hits in Tito and Pavlik, but in them fights he was the bigger man. Even though he is smaller than Haye, Haye still got better speed, power, stamina than Hopkins. But Hopkins would need to just box for 6 - 8 rounds, and then just avoid Haye for the remainder to win a UD. Haye is easy to hit, and can be roughed up in the inside. Hopkins is the better boxer even today, BHop can get 6 - 8 rounds and win a UD.
