Interestingly enough, I thought he was jobbed in the SECOND Taylor fight and his fight with Joe.

I thought Taylor definitely won the first fight, just barely.

Hopkins the acrimonious one has made his biggest mistake since chosing not to visit a dentist.

I don't mean any disresct to Hopkins, but I think we are going to witness a classic case of a fighter who stuck around for one to many fights against the wrong opponent.

    Definite possibility.

I still tend to believe Hopkins has enough left to keep this competitive, but you might be right.

I think hops shows up in his executioner mask.
I also think he takes some big chances early, not late, in the fight.
I think Hops big dream is to knock out Pavlik so he knows he has to try and hurt him early.
Yes, he wants to make money but its more than that because he already has that. Pavlik is a huge risk for anyone around his weight let alone someone as past it as he is.

So, I really see him expending a lot of energy early on in the fight, knowing that he can probably still get out of there losing a decision, and making some bucks, if it doesn't happen. I just don't see him being able to pull it off, partially because Pavlik's ability to take a shot is grossly under rated, thank god, because it allows me to make more money off of him.

I hope Pavlik knocks him into next week but I'm not sure if it will be a wide Pavlik UD or a Pavlik KO.

Hopkins truly relishes the challenge and the risk. Too bad that De La Hoya doesn't.

I also think that its quite possible that Hopkins decides in his own mind after taking a beating like he never has before in his entire career, that he has made a horrible, horrible mistake by taking this fight and if he gets hurt in one round but not finished, gives us the biggest combination of acting and cheating and fouling and overall BS in the following round that even Francisco Lorenzo is disgusted.

Hopkins may get knocked out by a White Boy in this fight.

I disagree, with Hopkins acting career underway he can pull it off with a DQ. He gets hit on the belt line and lay down in pain for like 3 mins. Pavlik get a warning that if he hits low again he will get DQ. Another hit a little bit above the belt line this time and Hopkins can not beat the 5 mins. Pavlik get DQ and there's your winner.

There are things only boxers can understand and fanclubs don't matter. Pavlik will look to establish a pumping left jab and combine it with a powerful right cross but he has to do it finding the perfect distance with his feet. Hopkins will look to block that left jab with his left hand and shoot sharply and solid on the countermove with his right, using his masterful ring generalship and backpedal movement. If Pavlik imposes a fluid leading shot on Hops, he won't hear the final bell b'cause after that lead, comes the right hand and then the massive hooks inside at that relentless, agressive forward moving motion. On the other hand, If Pavlik can't find Hopkins with a left jab, he's done for a school lesson with Bernard scoring whenever he wants to. It's up to the boxers, nothing to do where your heart is.

Interesting assessment. I think Calzaghe landed ZERO jabs in the first round against Hopkins.
