remember joe is a huge 168 pounder and will easily breeze going up in weight,
whats slow hopkins who throws about 10 punches a round gonna do when joe puts that pressure on him like he did lacy and kessler throwing 100 bombs a round?i see joe stopping him after 5 or the 8th if not ud.

then joe can ask old bernie whats it feel like to get yer arse kicked by a white boy now sucker!

Lets not forget that this wil be the toughest fight of Calzaghe's career !! This not Lacy or Manfredo ..Though I am going with Joe on work rate its easier said than done against the likes of Hopkins !

Joe may need to surround him with about 10 guys to win this!

I dont want to see any excuses when Calzaghe beat Hopkins since you people think Saint Bernard is unbeatable

As you said this will easily be the toughest fight of Joe's career, he will be out of his comfort zone fighting Hopkins, it will be his first fight away from home, and on top of that he will be fighting someone who has even more ring generalship than him. I would bet my life that Calzaghe's punch out put will be at a low against Hopkins, the rough house tactics, the holding, all this will come into play. Hopkins made a living out of beating the odds and being the underdog, so really cant count him out of this fight either.

A load of crap. Possibly. How the hell does anyone know that it will be tough? It might be easy for him. I wouldn't put it past Joe to wipe Bernard out with ease, but you never know. It's pointless trying to predict it, but the likeliness is that Joe will win by UD.

Bernard Hopkins is not a risk taking fighter..he is not cut from the same cloth as Muhammad Ali etc..Bernard Hopkins is sometimes called the professors because he is one of the very few true master of the sport. Now what i see is that Bernard Hopkins has been talking up this fight for some times..he has been calling out Joe Calzaghe for along time. Bernard Hopkins only calls out fighters he knows and is 100% sure he can beat..because that's the way his mind and his approach works.

Bernard Hopkins is a good athlete..not great..but he is master technician..he is street fighter..he is a boxer..Bernard Hopkins clearly sees something in Joe Calzaghe style. And lets face facts..Joe Calzaghe can stand square on and looks like he is throwing punches similarity to a girl. There are technical defaults in his style..who else better than Bernard Hopkins to penetrate his style.

Bernard Hopkins just may well defeat Joe Calzaghe..to the normal everyday fan we may not be able to see it..because are minds are not ready. But Bernard Hopkins sees something with his eye's..with his mind.

He trains hard..he rectifies any mistakes in his skills. And he is going to come with a game play.

Bernard Hopkins has signed no contract..which says he is going to loose.

    This fight is on.

I think this be more of a tactical fight, which I feel plays more into Hopkins favor. I really dont see Joe's workrate being that big of an issue, I really believe Hopkins will find away to limit that with effective counter punching and rough house tactics. I do see this fight going to a decision and highly doubt it will be one sidded as some think, I think Hopkins would foul out, before he gets blown out, just like early on against Winky, I thought Winky won 4 out of the first 6 rounds, until Hopkins started the rough house tactics and Winky could find the dog in himself to pull out the victory.

I see this match starting out as a boxing match, while ended up into a fight, if Joe can the dog in himself and not allow Hopkins to bully him, I see him winning, if he cant, Hopkins will pull out the victory IMO.

If Hop was unbeaten, then maybe what you said would hold some weight. Fact is, Hopkins has been beaten 4 times. So how does he only take fights he KNOWS he can win?

He's taking this fight because he HAS to take it, otherwise he'd be accused of ducking Calzaghe (again) just like he did when he priced himself out of a fight with Joe 6 years ago. Please don't come with the "Bernard sees something other people can't" because it's simply untrue, and it also sounds bloody ridiculous, as though you're just a fanboy.

Seriously man, if a girl threw punches at me like Joe Calzaghe I'd ****ing RUN.

Joe ain't throwing that many punches in this fight, he'll be playing a chess match with Hopkins after he sees he keeps getting countered with those sloppy punches.

exactly mate, hopkins only option is to come forward and try and give as good as he gets, otherwise joe will swarm all over him from 1st bell to wherever it ends also joe can easily go the distance throwing crazy amounts of punches per round so honestly the outlook looks bleak for old bernie god he calls himself the executioner but throws so little punches and is so cagey he should be called the parole officer!

i cant wait to see bernards face after hes beat up by our white boy!!!!!!!!! yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I like Calzaghe and I know he will win but he will never KO Hopkins. Hopkins just doesn't go down. This will be an easy fight for Calzaghe...all he has to do is box and fight like he fought Kessler.:happy
