That's the only way he's gonna neutralize Calzaghe's overwhelming speed advantage and workrate. I think if he holds excessively, the ref needs to start taking some points away from Hopkins, it's only fair.
the thing is Hopkins holds and hits on the side where the ref usually can't see He will also use the head under the chin move extensively.
I think Joe can handle Bernard, he's been calling him out since pre 2002 so he's got to have studied him in and out lets be realistic; there's no need to worry.
Calzaghe needs to worry about Hopkins head too cause Hopkins tends to charge in with his head down when he tries to punch and hold, that's what got Winky a few times in their fight. After a devastating headbutt, it's hard to recover, ask Mosley(against Forrest).
'Hopkins will use the hit and hold method to neutralize Calzaghe's speed...' - I disagree 'Hopkins will TRY TO USE the hit and hold method to neutralize Calzaghe's speed...' - I agree with that And I agree that Calzaghe should be very careful on the inside because Hopkins likes to use his had and you saw the effect on the other great and tricky southpaw Winky Wright.
or course there is need to worry! IF calzaghe wins then all of the fan boys will be over flowing ESB with all of there bull**** about how great calzaghe is... and we wouldnt want that now would we?:nono
American venue, American ref, American judges: Hopkins will get away with whatever he wants to get away with.
That's exactly what I was thinking and was going to post. That would really, really suck. If Hopkins knows he's losing he'll pull out all the dirty stops: head butts, low blows, whatever.
