Who ever cant see that is nutz.. so that means joe had to win round 7,8,9,10,11,12 and that didn't happen sorry
i agree with you but some rounds were close i mean i cant dispute the fact joe won as much as it kills me
Hopkins did not win rounds 1-6 versus Joe. That's bull****. Bernard got whipped, plain and simple. It's boxing not running, hugging, cheating and generally being gay. Hopkins lost and it really is time people got over it. I'm not even a JC fan but he beat a so called top five p4p fighter in the US with everything against him. It's a shame people (or more precisely my fellow Americans) gave credit where credit's due. It's just a shame JC's not a tough black kid from the bronx because he'd be revered as a demi-god if he was. P.S JC would whip Pavlik, he's a Lacyesque hype-job
I pretty much agree with you as I had Hopkins winning rounds 1-4, then 6, 10 and round 11. The final tally was for Hopkins 7 rounds to 5 with a two point round for the knockdown in the 1st. Joe was given a decision that he did not deserve - but that is boxing. Hopkins played the villain so well in the promotion of the fight - that no one felt sorry for him when it happened. I don't see the two of them fighting again - unless by some strange act of god - that Hopkins agreed to fight in Wales. It will never happen and the result will never change. Kudos to Joe because even if I do not feel like he won the fight - he is a truly nice guy and exemplary champion and he deserved something good to happen to him.
I'm about as big of a Hopkins supporter as it gets, but the first 6 rounds is a little crazy. I gave him the first 4 after carefully watching each exchanges in slow-motion to determine who was actually landing the clean, effective punches (Hopkins) and after observing that Calzaghe's workrate was really nothing more then ineffective agressiveness. In later rounds there were a lot of rounds that could have gone either way based on effective punching but I gave the edge to Calzaghe for his workrate as a determining factor to an otherwise equal round. I had a final score of 114-113 for Hopkins and before any calls me crazy I'd be glad to show supportive evidence of my decision.
I had Hopkins 4 points ahead after 3 rounds, but Calzaghe 1 point ahead by the end of 12. Calzaghe won. If Hopkins really did win.......................we'd be hearing cries of 'Hopkins was robbed' etc. Instead we're hearing 'desperate' arguments like this one.
Well said that man!! At least it goes to show not all Americans are stupid. I agree with all of the above apart from Pavilk being hype job. He looks the real deal to me, although still not good enough to beat Calzaghe
You don't win rounds by constantly retreating, constantly holding, whilst lobbing in the occasional potshot;especially in America, and very especially in Vegas
