I don't see why not. He's huge for 168 and I reckon he could easily make the jump.

He makes 168 easily, so there's no reason for him to do so.

Hopkins should go for the 168 title, becoming a 3-division champ, that's the only reason he should fight Froch.

No reason? How about a big payday fighting a boxing legend?

172 or 173 sounds about a good catch weight fight for these 2, Froch wont do 175 thats too much weight for him even if its just a 2lb difference from 173 but 2lbs in boxing makes a lot of difference.

I'm sure he'd rather fight another opponent whilst not putting himself at a distinct disadvantage.

 if Hopkins made Pavlik look easy at a catchweight of 170lbs, imagine what he'd do to Froch :rofl

Froch's only hope is to make Hopkins drain for the fight. 175 would be a shambles.

The key word is imagine, you can only imagine with this type of scenario.
All fighters bring different things to the table and I think your above statement is typical of if A beats B then obviously B can be C and D.

**** doesn't work like that. I think Froch would give Hopkins a good fight and he would probably force Hopkins to fight because Hopkins likes to coast and conserve energy. If Froch applied constant pressure he would be in with a good shot as long as he doesn't get caught with anything stupid.

The interesting thing about this fight is the final 4 rounds if it went the distance. Froch would not allow Hopkins to coast and if he could stop him from clinching then who knows what will happen.

I would like to see this fight.

Good question. He knows Dawson would beat them, and the rest are either not big enough names or are German based.

If I was Froch I would take the fight if it was big money. If he steps up to 175lbs and is not fighting for another title. If he loses he could move back down and defend the 168lbs title. He would still have his belt just like Pavlik.
