Thats a cop out if i have ever heard1.

Have heard reports he will give up the title rather then fight Big Sol.

Hoppa has won me over but with bull**** like that he is kidding himself.

Me and my younger brother used to beat eachother up over one looking at the other the wrong way.lol.

Broke the poor buggers nose by accident during 1 dust up.Things went alittle to far.

If Hoppa and Sol are such Bros Sol wont take Hoppas belt then because that would be a bit rude for a bro.

Did the Hopoate fight suck or is it just me?
I’m always very firm in my stance on issues in boxing. There are times when people will make me see the other way and I’m always the first to admit when I’m wrong. On Wednesday night I was roped into watching the Australian heavyweight title fight between ex-Rugby League player John Hopoate and Australian veteran ‘Big’ Bob Mirovic at my local pub by my mates. This fight had a bit of a hype behind it and for some reason was shown on pay per view (thats another issue for another day). What I saw was easily the worst main event I’ve ever seen on a pay per view broadcast, which when I’ve checked the various message boards I lurk around in from time to time is in complete contrast to everyone elses opinion. This has really left me wondering where people set their standards or if it’s just me who thought this fight made Holyfield-Ruiz look like Castillo-Corrales?

Tough lads with power but cmon, the level of boxing technique was appauling

It was a good fight because they were both sloppy as each other.

Heavyweight fighting the world over is of a terrible standard, Australia being no different

    Totally Agree.

An Australian title is something to be proud of. For over 100 years some of the greatest boxers in history have won Australian titles. Lets hope things continue on the up...

Did you expect Ali v Frazier ?

You don't need great technical world champions for a good fight as long as they're evenly matched.

The old bull v the young buck provided entertainment and that is what sports are all about....the fight was in the balance and the unexpected lurked around the corner every second.

As for Hoppa, he'll improve with time and set a decent standard for the Australian Crown until someone better comes along.

Have any of Vladamir's fights been any more exciting lately?

    They are heavyweights.

    HOW ABOUT THOSE WARRIORS ???

Not going to suggest that I backed them.... because I didn't but I did warn the father-in-law that the Warriors were THE team that causes Melbourne problems (he lives in Melbourne and is a member)...

a bit like Frazier giving Ali all those headaches.

He couldn't miss with the jab. That won it for him IMO, simply couldn't miss.
He hurt bob with it a few times.

Couple of very dubious decisions in earlier fights though.

Chan was robbed, and the young Thai bloke sat the gold coaster (don't know his name, purple shorts) on his arse, worried him all night, and got completely jobbed too. (he lost one card 58-56 AFTER getting a clean KD, and being the far busier fighter????)

Oh yeah, and terribe dive by the Argie!!!!

Chan wasn't robbed at all. Foley clearly got the better of him, though it was a good fight.

i knew the warriors could win cause they always give storm trouble and the warriors are a good team this year.

I almost jumped off my couch last night in the closing minutes of the game.

My wish has come true, Broncos v Storm :happy
