Hoppa refuses to defend title against Wilson!

Its no-one’s fault its business but show me a tape where he said exactly that anyway. I was with him at the Sydney press conference and he didn’t say that, I sure didn’t hear it. I wasn’t though with him in melb. If he did say that who gives a ****, fighters say things before a fight because they are pretty hyped up and are training to knock each other out, I’m sure they are not too worried about the verbal. Hop knows he is more than worthy surely you people who know boxing understand that things are said to upset the opponent and rattle them but after the fight they hug and respect each other. Is it any difference that some people posting on the forum say derogative and nasty comments about hop all the time. They get the right but the fighter doesn’t. They aint goin to be talking nice to one another before the fight and i wouldn’t expect anything different. Bit like what Col said at the press conference, Hoppa is just a pub fighter and I’m going to show him the boxing business: something like that anyway. Is Hop going to whine about that, doubt it very much! c'mon guys let it go, critique their performance etc in the boxing ring and not their personalities outside it because most of you wouldn’t have given and helped out the needy / charity half as much as hop has. Anyway enough on this subject for me and i apologise in lowering my standard to beavers in my previous posts.

Why would you rather Hoppa fight over 8 rds rather than the standard 10 against a solid opponent like Wilson ? Surely both fighters would have preferred to battle it out over 10 rds ?

 

I find it funny that the current Aust. champion won't fight 10 rd fights. I know he only did 2 rds against McCall so he should be fresh with all the training he's been doing.

I doubt it.
It's easy to summise, just like it's easy to expect Dino to come on here and explain his decisions regarding Hoppa's future.
Both these guys are warriors and will tough out a good fight regardless of how many rounds it is.
PS, Beaver, your dickhead wisecracks are both tired and unamusing.

 

opinion is one thing but down right gutless and rude remarks is another. my critism is with some of forum writers not the forum itself. you know the gutless ones that trash those who are trying to do their best.

Unless the rules are changed i dont think you are right.

In general if the australian champion and the opponent make the weight (obviously doesnt matter wIth heavyweights) and it is over the correct rounds for a championship fight ie: 10 x 3mins oz or 8 x 3mins for state then if the opponent wins by KO he automatically wins the title. That my understanding. Regardless in my view if you are the champ and you loose then it is pretty hard to lay claim to be the champ.

 

It is the last time I will write on this forum and try to inform you about events as they unfold. I have always been honest with you all. From now I will not read or posts another piece of dribble again from some of you rude and arrogant key board heroes. You can continue to read your papers and listen to bull**** while you talk the talk because only those here that have really walked the walk ( and there are some) make any real sense, do not bag boxers and generally have something sensible to say. I guess if I was in your position Dino, I probably wouldn't waste my time posting and replying to rubbish posts. The problem now is you have shown your weakness and unprofessionalism by showing us some of your true colours. Sure your gonna get stupid questions and posts from idiots who sometimes just like to stir and see how far they can take it. laugh at it and move on...As a trainer/Manager I would put my typing energy in looking out for Hoppas Interest and focusing on more important issues.

he's right in a way, as there is some utter rubbish on these forums sometimes and some people should be banned for just simply being dickheads.

but you have to be aware that on forums where people can hide behind their computers their are going to be some frustrating comments from members and you just have to ingore a most of it.

on a whole though most people here are constructive contributors.

 

for the record i hope hoppa wins with an early ko.

they have given wonderful service to aussie boxing but wilson and mirovic are getting in the way of some very nice matchups on the local scene.
