Hopkins Jones Jr and Tito should all stay retired. I have no interest in watching Calzhage outslap Hopkins for 12 rounds which is most likely what will happen. Calzahge is finally making an effort to fight some of the bigger names because he knows their ancient. I dont care what anyone says, Calzhage has always had the fan base and money behind him to make the bigger fights, he and his promoter just never wanted them until now.

Are you denying that those two fighters were included in just about EVERYONE'S P4P list when Hopkins fought them? Seriously?

No,no,no. I'm pretty certain, they were in everyone's top 10 p4p list. Just putting into context, why Tarver was there and that Winky was fighting wwwwwaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy out of his weight class.

    Your revisionist hindsight is moot.

Hopkins was a 3:1 underdog against Tarver and it was a pick'em fight against Winky. A lot of people thought Winky would beat Hopkins because of workrate. That reminds me of another fighter they say the same thing of when it comes to Hopkins.

Hopkins is #3 on my list, and I'm hard-pressed to see how any objective observer can have him rated any lower than #5.

I despise p4p rankings. Pure bull****. They do make for good debates though:D

I'll hold my hands up. I picked Tarver to beat Hopkins. But that was based on Hopkins being 41 at the time? and coming off 2 defeats to JT and of course, moving up two weight classes. It was in NO WAY due to me thinking Tarver was a better fighter. Major shock that one and I was thrilled to see Hopkins win believe it or not.

Winky was less likely to beat Hopkins than Hatton was to beat Mayweather.

Well, to me, it's pretty obvious that the move up was good for Hopkins.

If I'm not mistaken, you think Calzaghe will beat Hopkins, no?

It's a well known crowd called common sense.com

I do believe I read somewhere that Hatton was 2/1 to beat Mayweather:patsch

No one in their right mind thought Hopkins would beat Tarver. Tarver was recognized as the best LHW out there while Hopkins was coming off of 2 close decisions with Taylor from MW. He made Tarver age. He exposed Tarver. He tends to do that. And while Wright fought way above his weight, he still made Wright look like a C class fighter. Same with Trinidad. He took away Trinidad's heart and Trinidad hasn't been the same since that fight.

So as far you know, there wasn't a legitimate odds-maker that gave Hatton a better chance than Winky, correct?

Correct. But i'm not a gambler, so I really wouldn't know. I just remember someone, on here I think, claiming Hatton was at 2/1 odds to beat Mayweather.

I actually picked Hopkins UD over Tarver, and bet a good bit on it back in 2006, I remember it so well because the winnings paid for some expensive moving costs.:yep

I wasnt suprised one bit to see Hopkins beat Tarver. Tarver is a lazy sack of ****, and he spends 95% of his training camps losing weight. The only fight he ever seemed to get up for was Jones Jr.
