Horn-Pacquiao was a huge fight. Attendance in excess of 50,000 and record numbers watching it in both Australia and the US.

Should Horn get past Corcoran in Brisbane in December, another huge fight will follow.

    Horn riding the wave.

it won't if he thinks staying put in oz will get him anything more than another fringe contender looking for a 'step up' by capturing horn's strap
horn has a poor international profile, and was very fortunate to get the pacman fight to begin with
the fact that horn was quoted in the oz media as wanting to fight Floyd after pacman just goes to show how little he understands the business of boxing

Poor international profile? Are you serious?

Before Horn beat Pacquiao people were claiming they didn't know who Horn was. Now they can't stop talking about him. Horn's profile has gone through the roof.

Horn will likely fight Crawford should he get past Corcoran, and Crawford's trainer Brian McIntyre has already confirmed they have no issues coming to Australia to fight Horn. It would be a decent earner too because it would draw another huge crowd in Brisbane.

I think Horndog v Corcoran will be very competitive.

Big carrot for the winner is a big fight & payday against Dud Crawford.

If it's in Australia, like the Pacman fight, Horn will do much better against Crawford than expected.

And of course, if Crawford comes out here & takes the belt off Horndog, all credit to him.

Horndog needs to get past Corcoran first though.

my point is that horn isn't known by casuals outside of oz
if the Crawford fight does come off, then i'll eat my words

Horn-Pacquiao on July 2 remains far and away the highest rating boxing telecast on American cable television this year.

Crawford-Diaz for the WBO and WBC super-lightweight titles is well behind in 3rd place on that list.

    Crawford is also Horn's mandatory.

The rematch clause was included in the Horn-Pacquiao contract. Naturally Horn is disappointed the rematch didn't happen. But Jeff Horn will be remembered as the guy who retired Manny Pacquiao, and should he get past Corcoran another huge fight will follow.

I agree Horn is boss, he mauled Pac for a bit that was entertaining. Atlas had terrible commentary. He's a Pac fan boy gave Horn no credit it was blatant

I just don't like his next fight.

Corcoran wasn't the best fight out there. Nobody is trying to argue that. But it is a voluntary defence and they are fulfilling their obligations with a very beatable opponent in order to land a huge fight afterwards.

That huge fight was going to be the Pacquiao rematch. But it now looks like being Crawford, who just finished unifying a division below and now has his sights on doing the same thing at welterweight.

Gary Corcoran's thoughts on Horn vs Pacquiao:

"I’ll be honest with you, it was a close fight. I don’t think Pacquiao is the same fighter he used to be. I think a few years ago he would have knocked Jeff Horn out and that’s my honest opinion, but he beat what was in front of him. It’s a good win to have on your record, Pacquiao, because he’s shop-worn a bit now. It was the right time to get him, so fair play to him".

It's a optional and 1st defence before a big $$$ fight. There have been worse optional defences(doesn't make it a good fight but you can understand the reasoning behind it).

    Optional?

It is referred to as a voluntary defence and enables the champion to defend against anyone from that organisation's top 15.

That's a nice way for Corcoran's trainer to say Horny got a gift
