Turned out to be a good fight. If Lara had not gotten knocked down, it would have been a draw. Steve Farhood had Lara winning by a point with the knockout. Lara earned my respect, there is talk of a rematch or Hurd Vs.Charlo next!

On a completely different side note....

Lara's WIFE and Degales SISTER would get Papilloned....if I got my clammy little hands on them they'd be speaking in tongues.

Come on IB, just because you scored AJ-Parker a draw (correctly) and would have had this match rightfully a draw without the KD, arguably to Lara by a point or two, since you noted a few Hurd rounds were "close" doesn't mean you have to play the humble act with these animals.

Lara performed beautifully, this is the Lara I've always known was in there, in spite of what all the naysayers said that Hurd would pummel his ass and stop him in 7 or 8, Lara hunkered down, took the fight to Hurd, and fought Hurd's match, and came within a round of pulling it off. He showed tremendous heart and grit, and massive ****ing balls. This was his Wlad-AJ moment. I've always respected Lara's skillset, and deep down knew a FOTY type performance was within him. Don't be humble, brag and gloat. Lara was the boss in there tonight, even with every possible odd there was stacked against him.

People say they don't want him to run and that he deserved to lose in the past, so he didn't, and they still deprived him of the decision.

    200 measly punches. 200.

Hurd was supposed to get outboxed comprehensively for the entire 12 rounds, and barely lay a glove on his rival at any point during that duration.

Outland his sharp-shooting opponent by over 50 punches? Nah. Won't happen.

Turn his foe's face into an abstract portrait and then drop him with a short, compact, perfectly thrown combination? No chance at all of that happening.

Yet, Hurd was able to close the distance on Lara and dictate the terms of engagement a lot earlier than anyone expected. He was able to find routes to the body throughout the fight and used the uppercut in close to great effect. And, he was able to earn the respect of at least a few naysayers who came to realize that he possessed a decent enough boxing brain in addition to his brawn.

Lara boxed well and fought well, yeah...

...But make no mistake, so did Hurd and he deserves credit for that.

They call him Jarett "The Pleaser." His punches thrown like opium, fireworks and lead. Now 'slandy's tellin' his troubles to strangers and when the shadows get long he'll need meds. When the shadows get long he'll need meds.

Nah. Seeing IB (a Bruins fan) rock the classic CH in his avatar is a whole lot more appropriate than your suggestion.

And, if not more appropriate, then perhaps a little more satisfying. :D

Tell you what, @Drew101 - limited time offer here, since I am enjoying the hell outta this game (and pretty "in my cups") - if Toronto somehow pulls this out and eliminates my boys, you have the option to call Mulligan and defer my punitive avatar choice from Bradley vs. Holt to a blue Maple Leaf.

Offer is valid from the final horn (pending outcome) until midnight EST.

:nonono That's way too much handsomeness for a 40x40 pixel space. The forum's servers would start to spontaneously ovulate and our screens would be flooded with demands from the newly self-aware Xenforo software to figure out the logistics of feeding it all the ice cream.

It's been a fantastic series. But the fans of the Habs and the Leafs fans are the Canadian equivalent of the Bloods and the Crips, so the current avatar likely stays there for a month.

That said, given what occurred in T.O. this week, can't help but root for the Leafs in this game. Plus, epic comebacks are always awesome to watch.

Looks like the Bruins pulled it together and locked it down tight on defense when they needed to do so. Your team advances, IB-and your new avatar stays till June.
