How much you wanting to pay? Arenas right in the town centre, so you're fine anywhere City Centre really.

The airports a fair way away to be honest mate you'd be better looking in Trafford, Salford Quays, Eastlands or Deansgate as there all close enough city. Try and get near a tram stop as from any of those areas you can be in town within 10 minutes or so, and a taxi back after won't break the bank. Most of the trams will drop you at Victoria Station which is attached to the Arena.

think trains run from piccadilly to airport through the night but better off checking - if they do will be ok prob takes 30 mins

taxi from city center to airport mite be £30ish n take about half hour

through the day will be easy enough for trains from airport

try salford quays hotels - will be about 15 mins 15 quid in a taxi and through the day loads of trains trams etc

Might be tricky for a decent cheap hotel in the city centre if your only booking up now

whatever you do don't walk through Salford at night
    that would be foolish
    it's a dangerous place
    especially if you're not white

Just stayed in the Premier Inn Portland Street last weekend. Ten minute taxi journey from the arena and was cheap enough
