After avenging his defeat to Darnell Boone by Ko in March of 2013 Adonis got his shot at then champion Chad Dawson in June for the WBC Light Heavyweight championship. In an amazing feat Adonis cleaned Dawson's clock in 30 seconds by knockout, where we watched Dawson transform into Amir Khan.

After that amazing victory Adonis went on to fight Tavoris Cloud whose only defeat at the time was to Bernard Hopkins. Stevenson stoped Cloud by the 7th round for another outstanding victory on his rising fame. 2 months later Stevenson faced off against Tony Bellew who was ,on paper, Stevenson's toughest foe to face at the time. Adonis went on to stop Bellew for the first and only time in his career.

2013 was not only a great year for Stevenson but for boxing as a whole. after 2013 everything seem to go downhill for Adonis as he faced questionably "soft" competition after the struggle with Andrzej Fonfara, in Sukhotsky, Bika, and Karpency. It makes it look like after 2013 that Stevenson was nothing more than a hype job that got lucky.

Hopefully he will face the future winner of Kovalev vs Ward.

  2. Fonfara and Cloud got KO'd later on so that weakens Pimp's resume.

Frankly the only way Kov fight happens if it's on HBO.

Stevenson needs to face Beterbiev to save face at this point.
