How a prime Couture does vs the top 205 of today?

he beats everyone bar machida and rua and might beat both of them as well.

 

he is bigger and stonger then hendo and would beat him althought not easily.

 

in a fight between two good wrestlers the bigger man normally wins and randy is defo a fair bit bigger than dan.

 

very true i would have it maybe 65 to 35 in favour of randy, i think randy would have big problems with rua though. The fight against chuck obviously doesn't show if he is fully back to his best but he looked ten times better than the coleman or griffin fight.

 

vs Rashad - Tito outwrestled Rashad and I know Couture can plus Couture will force the fight while Rashad is very passive and waits for everything. Couture wins by TKO in 4.

Vs Rampage - Very though fight for Couture I think Rampage might be able to get a KO hes very hard to take down and is a better striker then Couture. Couture would need to use alot of Muay Thai which isnt his style. Id pick Rampage by stoppage in 3 with punches.

vs Machida - Machida is just to elusive and damn near flawless I cant pick anyone agianst him including Couture although if anyone can pull it off its Couture. Machida by decision even in a 5 rounder.

vs Rua - Rua doesnt have any takedown defense or cardio I have Couture wearing him out quickly and finishing him with GNP early in the 2nd.

vs Griffin - Griffin wont be able to stop Coutures takedowns and Griffin has almost no guard especially agianst GNP see Jardine,Evans and Ortiz brutalize him inside Griffins guard. Couture would have no problem opening up a cut or just stopping him period.

vs Jardine - Stylisticall this could be a tough tough fight for Randy but Jardine has alot of flaws in his dangerous standup. Randy is a true pro and would probablly exploit them and find a way to force his fight on Jardine. Randy wins but im not sure its by stoppage.

vs Hendo - Id pick Randy just because hes alittle bigger and stronger and has more well rounded standup. Couture by decision.

vs Anderson Silva - Depends if Randy can close the distance if he does he has no problem getting this fight down smothering Silva and wearing him down over 15 or even 25 minutes. If he cant then Silva smokes him with his accurate and quick strikes. I go both ways on this fight.

BTW what is the prime Randy ? He was arguablly at his best in 07 that was when he seemed to be the most evolved. However since this is about 205 ill assume his 03-04 self where he made Chuck,Tito and Vitor his bitches.

 

How does he not have cardio he never had cardio problems until his injuries and looked alot better on his feat and fitter against chuck. His subs are miles ahead of randy so him being on his back isn't that much of a disadvantage.

 

Shoguns BJJ is so overatted whos he subbed besides Randleman who even got subbed by Cro Cop ? This is Couture from 04 not 00 his BJJ skills had improved. This man did draw with Jacare and even took his back at one point. Shogun is no bigger a threat of his back then Belfort or Tito was.

I'd favour Couture over Griffin, Rashad, Hendo and Jardine. I'm not too sure about Anderson Silva as he is hardly proven at the weight, although I reckon Silva would be able to hang with the best 205lbers.

Machida beats him by decision, too elusive. rampage KOs him for much the same reasons as jimmie stated.

I'm not sure about Shogun. Shogun could just come out and blitz him, KOing him early. But if Couture survived, I could see him grinding Shogun down for a late TKO. I'd probably favour Shogun though personally.
