Once upon a time boxing used to be the biggest sport in the US, now I think is a moment when boxing could be pushed up the totem pole of sports in America.

You got Pac May happening, which I think the promoters have been mishandling by not having a press tour, because you oughtta look at this fight as an opportunity to create new fans, not make short term bucks, but, anyway, hopefully it draws some people in.

More importantly, you got Haymon putting top notch fighters on free TV.

And the third thing is, the HW division is finally looking interesting. You got Wlad, Wilder, Fury, Joshua and now Haye is talking about coming back.

So why not make a HW tourney like the super six, with a show like Super Six 360 or whatever it was called going alongside it and airing on American TV? People love the heavies, plus you got two or three guys in there who can talk, most notably Fury, who REALLY needs to be put in front of an American audience. This guy is DYNAMITE on camera and really could help the sport.

I wish Al Haymon would buy his contract out, or someone else capable, and start having him talk **** to Wlad in front of an American audience, or talk **** to Wilder, or talk **** to anyone and then build that matchup and build towards him fighting Wlad.

    Anyway, MAKE A HW TOURNAMENT!

the super six was kinda a disaster.

sum type of tournament style should be implicated. lots of good heavyweight matchups.

wilder coming off an injury i dnt expect him to be in a big fight. i have a feelin wilder is going to fight eric molina

then assuming wlad beats jennings .... wlad will fight sum one he shouldnt like glaszkov.

so pretty much were not gonna fights we should . like fury vs wlad or fury vs wilder or wlad vs wilder.

It won't work anymore... the "cherrypick until you get a big payday" approach works too well these days, so why would they actually take risks to fight in a tournament.
The IBF and WBC tried to put on 4 man tourneys in the division and it didn't come off because most didn't want any of that.

It's even hard to get guys to fight for a mandatory these days, or even the title itself.

Well they have the Boxcino tourney, and while not top ten guys it certainly weeds out a few pretenders, and the winner will have accomplished more than some top 10 guys you see in some of those terrible alphabet groups.
The winner will likely get a top 10-15 fight at some point later this year if I had to guess.
Tournaments work best, and they are much more fun to watch (easily better for the fans, and sport as a whole).

Look at Willie Monroe Jr. Yes he is a huge underdog going into the GGG fight, but Boxcino got him the Vera fight, and now he's in a title fight instead of watching them at home.

Tournaments should at the very least be how you get a top 10 fight.
Imagine if Wilder had to sift through a Boxcino tournament to get his shot.
Had he won he would have had a ton more respect going into the Stiverne fight.
Plus if everyone had to do it the competition would be fierce.

4 man tournaments are simple to pull off.
6 man tournaments are a completely different beast. Look what happened during the Super Six. 3 men dropped out because of various reasons. Abraham got into the semi finals off of two back to back losses. Ward already had beat Kessler who beat Froch yet it was Froch in the finals. Too many complications can arise in 2.5 years.
There are lessons to be learned but i doubt anyone will try anytime soon.

    4 man tournaments are fun.
    Semi Finals
    A vs B
    C vs D
    Finals
    A vs C
and on the undercard B vs D.
    4 men, 4 solid fights.
