I dont like all these old beat up legends coming back to fight young dangerous guys because they need money. Let them fight each other in a senior circuit of some type. We can have Holyfield tyson 3 Holmes Foreman fights like that. Only 8 weight divisions however. They can try to relive their youth, make some money while they're at it and without really damaging their legacies by getting beat up by the young guys
Always thought that to be the best solution. Like the tennis classics in which big names from the past play other big names from the past and earning a good living that way. Certainly in an era without much hero's, it might work out very well for them.
Every one of Roy Jones' previous victims would have a chance to knock him out. I don't know...it's dangerous.
This is a much better idea, and more dignifying, than seeing the old dogs square off against Wal-Mart baggers trying to climb the ranks to a title shot again and getting mashed up in the process. Itd be more profitable, too. Way more fans would be in to seeing Roy fight Eubank Sr than seeing him go life and death with a dude they've never heard of.
An old 50 odd year old boxer fighting the same could lead to death. They can still bang. But their resistance has gone.
Either create a "veteran belt", and we get to see Briggs chasing Wlad for ten more years, or set a maximum age limit (as in amateur boxing), and Wilder need to find a new opponent.
Well if theyre gonna fight anyway, wouldnt it be better to do so against guys their own age who realistically are no longer much better than journeyman but bring much more money because of their names?
