Alexander is going up to 147 and Williams says he can still make that weight. Both have benefitted from terrible decisions in the past month. Why not make this fight so they don't eat up another two HBO dates and subject other fighters to robberies? Yes, I'm being somewhat facetious here but I really don't want to be subjected to two more main events featuring these fighters.
I agree. - And Mosely should put on some weight & fight David Haye. - And Resto should come out of retirement & fight Margarito. Hey, this could be a trend!
Even the slow, shitty, lukewarm-pressuring, cat-fighting version of PTP from the Lara "win" knocks Alexander out cold. You're talking about a genetic freak of a welterweight who has scored highlight reel knockouts at middleweight (and was rumored to be contemplating 168 at one point, and has the build for it) - against a physically and mentally fragile light welterweight! I don't think Alexander is any more durable than say, Quintana. In fact, had he met prime Cotto at 140 I'm 100% sure he gets sparked in half the time Carlos did.
Double robbery. I have no idea what the final outcome would be as a result of it, but the smart money is on double robbery. Maybe Alexander gets knocked out but instead wins a technical decision, which Paul later gets overturned because Devon tests positive for Flintstone vitamins.
I think the worst thing that could have happened to Devon Alexander is him KO'ing Urango. Out of nowhere he became very overrated. People started thinking his uppercut would KO everyone from 140-147. They ignored the fact that he was easy to hit (Witter touched him up in their fight, Urango caught him a few times) and people assumed he was slick (people said he was slicker than Bradley even though Bradley is better defensively). Even Paul from last night would beat up on Devon. In spite of the Urango KO, Devon doesn't have the power to trouble Paul too much and Paul could turn up the pressure more so than last night. I'd think Paul would beat him relatively easily in spite of him being past it.
:deal I'm pretty sure I even read on here that "Bute has the second deadliest uppercut in the business behind Alexander"! atsch
Worse than that. Dan Rafael went on Friday Night Fights and said Alexander had the potential to be the next Mayweather. :blood
I'm pretty sure Rafael had a lobotomy at some point so he could install a little compartment in his frontal lobes to store french fries and a little heat lamp.
