 Hughes actually tried to pull his leg into an angle that would normally break anyone else's leg. But Penn has so much stupid dexterity that Hughes still struggled to get him to the mat. Id love to see Penn vs Aoki Hansen Gilbert Melendez Josh Thompson or Gomi. The UFC just doenst have the best fighters in the world at 55.

very impressive win for bj. florian was a really tough test and when he wasn't pinning bj up against the cage for long periods of time because he was unable to take him down, he was getting dominated. the only thing i can think of that bj could have done a little more was boxed. it seemed like every time he threw punches he hurt kenny. he's a heavy handed mofo and it's not like he's ever getting knocked.

his conditioning really didn't seem to be as good as they were hyping it up to be pre-fight. still think he needs a little more work on that, but regardless, no one's gonna beat bj at 155. he'll hold the belt there as long as he wants.

It was a good win, good performance, but I don't think he is a the level of a GSP or Silva.

At lightweight he is. Overall, since he lost to GSP at WW then no.

If you put it in perspective, had Penn not fought GSP. Penn would have been p4p no1 by far.

I was pleased with BJ slammin' Florian's ass to the ground w/ the greatest of ease and then mounting and ultimately choking him out in the 4th last night. Can't wait to hear what Kenny has to say about that **** on MMA Live.

Im sure hed praise BJ, Kennys a class act. He tried to play some mind games pre-fight but thats what you need. It was easy wasnt it? Suprised he didnt do it earlier..it was Kenny who gassed.

No doubt at light weight he is the best. However, I don't think he is as good as them p4p. I don't think he is as dominating as a GSP or A. Silva is. In comparison, how GSP and A. Silva have dominated their opponents, I didn't see that in Penn's performance that night; he only dominated once he had Florian on the ground.

He finished Florian, hes finished everyone at LW...you really cant ask for anything more. Hows that not being dominant. St. Pierre didnt finish Fitch, Alves and Penn didnt tap. GSP is a grinder, hes dominant in position but in terms of finishing, you cant get better than Silva and Penn.

Guys outside of Sanchez that I wouldn't mind seeing BJ fight at 155 . . .

    Frankie Edgar
    Tyson Griffin
    Eddie Alvarez
    Gilbert Melendez
    Clay Guida*
    Roger Huerta
    Shinya Aoki

*This one would be the most interesting as we all know BJ's had conditioning issues in the past and how much of a high octane fighter Guida is. Penn could potentially lose this fight off of exhaustion alone in the 5th provided he doesn't submit Guida earlier.

P.S. Gray Maynard is potentially the most boring fighter to ever fight (minus W. Klitschko).

GSP's TKO over Penn is as good as Penn's TKO over Sherk.

    The two of them quitted.

Silva wasnt able to finish Leites and Cote as well.

BJ would tear Guida's arms off and beat him with it. Guida has no place whatsoever in the UFC. As is the case he's a brand fighter and only remains because he's popular with the UFC fratboy fraternity. And 2 of those guys who are the better lightweights in the world arent in the UFC.

:rofl..you know in the beginning I was like "Man! this Guida has heart" but the mofo fights the same way all the ****ing time..I hope they hand his ass to BJ. Being a bully that he is, BJs probably wetting his appetite at the thought.

Guida's just a dumb caveman. I wish he got the boot already. He's beating will be way worse than what BJ did to Joe Stevenson.
