"Luster" has no business being used in a sentence to describe a possible De La Hoya/Mora matchup. :nono:nono:nono Even if Mora has the goods the beat ODH I don't want to watch it. It isn't intriguing. Quite frankly I think the fight isn't good for the sport of boxing when so many other fights would be more intriguing. I would rather watch the smaller Pac fight ODH just because of the the subplots. But i'd much rather see Cotto get the fight to see how he rebounds from his loss.

    Mike Tyson
    Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    Oscar De La Hoya
    Tito Trinidad
    Pernell Whitaker
    Roy Jones Jr.
    Muhammed Ali
    Floyd Patterson
    Kelly Pavlik
    Manny Pacquiao
    David Haye
    Mikkel Kessler
    Shane Mosley
    Fernando Vargas
    Jermain Taylor
    Ricky Hatton
    Naseem Hamed
    Corey Spinks
    Zab Judah

The list could go on forever

Seriously, Cotto is almost 28 and has two vacant title to his name. 28 is not that young. A ton of fighters have been able to accomplish what Cotto has by that age.

Well you can cry to high heavens for Cotto for all I care . . . but even Cotto himself knows he out of that possible fight after his lost. :D

    NO Luster . . . in possible DLH/Mora fight?

Nah nah nah :nono . . . you are being blinded by your biased hating or nuthugging.

When was the last time DLH fought for a legit belt or title? 2004 . . . against Strum where he got a gift decission. After that he hang around . . . fighting big money farce fights.

Now just the fact that he is finally fighting for a title again and the thought of Hoya going out as a winner . . . as a title holder upon retiring is already a "luster". . . irregardless what kind of champ he defeated.

You claim otherwise . . . then something must be really wrong with your brain.

Exactly my point you only have great names:D .... and half of that list could come off... point being cotto fought many good names and was able to defeat them before his first lost at 27... vargas, judah, spinks, kessler, hamed all were very good, but compare to cotto's opponents and being able to "defeat them" shouldn't be compare to cotto's accomplishments so far... hatton is still trying to prove his greatness... and honestly hes not to blame but haye is not in the most competetive division in boxing... other than that his name is only next to some great ones that you have listed, which was the point I wanted to make...

I listed the first guys that came to mind. Even still, Judah, Spinks, Hatton, Taylor, Kessler, and Pavlik are very good but not great. By 27 they all had achieved just as much, if not more than Cotto(Pavlik is not even 27 yet). Cotto has faced a lot of solid fighters. Margo, Judah, and Mosley are the only top level guys he's faced. He got pummeled by Margo, and he had a real close fight with an aging Mosley. He beat the **** out of Judah, but Judah was very much on the slide. Cotto could possibly become great by the time he retires. However, He's not there yet.

You would seriously pay to watch this crap. I have no interest at all watching Dela Hoya fight Mora, and I doubt many people would. I am a huge Cotto fan and although I would love to see Cotto whup up on him I doubt its going to happen but there are better fights then :**** Mora.

Im sorry big fan of judah, but no way he has achieved more than cotto, only known wins was against spinks and sd by corley...spinks has fought good opponents, won his first major title against mayorga but lost it in his third defense, hatton is still trying to prove hes the man at his weight and didn't have a good performance at 147, the only name that comes to mind is Mr.Tzyu. who was heading into retirement... kessler fail on his first major known fight...

Cotto has defeated former and current champs at 140, and at 147, judah, quintana, and even mosley which people keep on saying is an aging mosley, but still consider by most a top 5 at that division, cotto has been in one of the hottest divisions that we haven't seen in years and was and still is consider one of the best... theirs no weakness in the welterweight division were many fights could take place unlike other divisions were fighters have to move up, move down, or fight at a catch weight, this division is so loaded, that even the 5 through 10 guys could become champ, the collazo, cintrons, clotteys, quintanas, berto, and the list goes on...

By 28, Judah was a 3 time champ over two divisions as well as an undisputed champ. He beat many solid fighters and top level fighter in the form of Spinks. Spinks was an undisputed champ by 28. Hatton was a 3 time champ over two divisions by 28. Kessler was a double champ by 28 and had beaten several top 10 SMW's. His first loss was to a top 5 fighter in the sport and was after he turned 28. Cotto is about to turn 28 and he has yet to beat a champion in the ring. He's a two time paper champ and was destroyed by Margo. Both of the top level guys that he beat were on the slide as well.

None of those guys were a champion when Cotto fought them. Not one.

There's a good amount of solid fighters in the division, no great fighters.

Again the division is good, but not as good as people make it out to be. The division had much better fighters in the late 90's.

To me that signals parity. Many of the fighters are of similar skill level. However, that doesn't mean that they are all highly skilled.

disagree, many different styles and all posses different skill levels... thats why this division could be changing everytime a fight among them happens... because every fighter posses a certain skill that could make someones night a long one...

I'd like to see this fight. Oscar should win a close UD or a stoppage, I think the latter. Oscar TKO 10
