Interesting quote from Chris, who feels like he hasn't quite got the respect he deserves as he looks for a title shot with a win over Munoz.

He also credits having a big head for his good chin haha.

Cool guy, he was a real character at the UFC 138 press conference yesterday.

Maybe if he didn't come wading in with such a **** gameplan he wouldn't get iced so quickly.

OH WAIT I'VE HURT LEBEN I KNOW I'LL KEEP PUNCHING HIM WHILE HE'S GRABBED ME AND IS HITTING ME WITH UPPERCUTS.

I mean, some of these legends are so unable to adapt or evolve its hilarious.

Are you talking about the Wanderlei, Bisping, Stann, or Silva fight there FJ? :huh

I was only joking fella, I enjoy Leben's fights. I think that shot would have put Wandy in as much trouble in his prime as it did when they fought. Maybe Silva would have taken it better, but you a right about his gameplan

I'll give Chris Leben some credit.

Look at what he was on TUF1. A scared little alcoholic punk who was two steps away from being homeless. What did you or anyone expect out of that little shithead?

Six years later, not only is he still in the UFC, he's one of their most reliable guys. His skills have improved, his attitude has improved out of sight, and he's put on a shitload of exciting fights for the paying customers.

Leben maturing on the show was one of the highlights of TUF 1 and the post fight with Kenny was a stark contrast to the earlier incarnation

Id love to see a Koscheck rematch

Wandy/Leben. And yeah i know, it just infuriates me when guys like Fedor or Wandy refuse to learn. With Cro Cop and Liddell, at least they tried a different way.

Old dog, new tricks and all that malarkey.

Both Fedor and Wandy are fighters who thrive on using that killer instinct. That's probably the hardest thing to change for anyone

If Chris Leben can grow and evolve as a fighter and improve into his 30s, I don't think it's too much to ask that the supposed undisputed GOAT be able to do the same. :good

 He's improved, but Leben is not a prime example of an evolved fighter at all

He evolved his personal game. He has put in serious effort to lessen his technical flaws, add more dimensions to his skillset, and maximize his strengths. And the results show. Sure, he's never going to be a master at anything, but he works his ass off trying to get better. Which is more than anyone can say for Fedor over the last half-decade.

And he leaves it all out there in the cage every time. Nobody ever goes home from a Chris Leben fight thinking that he gave anything less than 100% effort. Again, not something that you can say for Fedor over the last few years.

 Yeah it's not likes Chris stands toe to toe swinging left hooks woth no regard for defence and relies on his chin anymore right

And it's not like Chris was arrested for a DUI crash last year either :rofl

    For **** sake Haggis

 Alright, so he has only improved so far.

But the point is, he's a better fighter now than he used to be. He's more comfortable on the ground, he throws straighter punches, (before he gets hurt), and he's generally more versatile than he was.

He takes the sport much more seriously. He does care about making sure that the fans always get their money's worth by seeing the best possible version of Chris Leben. He has the desire and the hunger. Fedor lost that attitude years ago. :good

But anyway, Leben should get respect. He earns his money, and he's a good addition to any fight card. Though he should still be one or two fights under the main event. :yep
