How about giving Chris Leben some credit?

Yeah he was, but that was a bit of a surprise considering how much he has matured. I mean, when he was on TUF who would have thought that guy would be out of jail six years later, let alone in fighting in the UFC, let alone headlining an admittedly weak card.

It's not like I'm his biggest fan or a die-hard defender. But this thread is about whether Leben should get some respect. I vote yes, he should get some respect for his efforts and achievements. :good

I respect Leben as an entertaining brawler who comes to fight

Why you are using a limited but tough journeyman to spout out the repetitive and tiresome Fedor stuff I dont know, and quite frankly I dont want to either

Maybe you should make ANOTHER Lesnar/Dana thread. You make some good points but otherwise you are rapidly becoming the One Punch of the MMA forum

It wasn't exactly hard for Leben to become slightly less of a ****** and tuf can.

Yep, that's what he is. But I'm always pleased to see his name on an upcoming fight card.

If you want to know why I criticize Fedor, it's this reason. When I started getting into MMA, Fedor was regarded as an unstoppable monster. And when I first saw him fight, I saw a sloppy brawler who frankly looked very ordinary. A couple of fights later, he started on his losing streak. So I never got to see this wrecking machine of legend. I just saw a guy who seemed to have given up on the sport he was supposed to rule, just at the moment that it exploded in profile. So I don't underrate him, because I know how great he was. I just hate that he pretty much coasted for most of the second half of his career. :conf

When the time is right, I will. :good

Ive read this a MILLION times Haggis, I get it

Why bring it up in a Leben thread? I never got to see Joe Louis fight, and his resume is full of cans. Im not bringing that up every 3 posts. I appreciate he was the best of his era and a great fighter though and brought something new to the sport

    Let it go son

Nobody rides Joe's nuts as hard as they do Fedor's on here. :good

I just hate blind hating, and I can't stand blind nuthugging either.

And the label "GOAT", I have high demands for that tag. It gives me the shits that he's regarded as this demigod. **** man, it's a forum. I come on here when I'm bored and talk smack.

Chris Leben is one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC, he goes out to fight, his chin is like steel and he has got a ton of power.

Could work on his skills a little though.

If they just keep matching him with strikers then he's great to watch. If its with grapplers though its just frustrating and he loses and its dull. Id like to see a rematch with Stann where he's 100%. That's the kind of guy he should fight every time.

Why should Leben be respected? He is a sloppy brawler with no stamina who shows how even a talentless scrub can be successful in the UFC. Please...

Wanderlai is on the dark side of his career - but he's still dangerous. He always makes for entertaining fights so he'll be in the UFC for as long as he wants to fight.

It's interesting to see so many former Pride fighters talking about how well they are treated in and by the UFC. Crocop. Wanderlei. Rampage.

Chris Leben has earned my respect over the years. I think his training with Burton Richardson has really helped him mature as well. He has become a repsected gate keeper in the division and will probably float around long enough until he gets a title shot one day - hopefully after Anderson Silva retires.

Leben has grown on me. Hes become a stand out guy.

Tell you what, If he fought in Japan where the competition is "weaker", hed have more victories.
