Waddaya think? Guida out-hustled Pettis, and Maynard bullied Guida. However, Pettis made an excellent comeback stopping Lauzon and he is the only man to beat Bendo in WEC. WAR!
I thought Diaz was already getting the next shot so Maynard-Pettis might not be a bad idea for after diaz.
I forgot that he is waiting. I don't like that he is, since he probably won't be fighting until around January. He has been a pretty active fighter up until this year.
The Bendo/Edgar rematch is totally unnecessary. Nate should just be getting the shot in August, and Edgar should be in the mix with the other contenders.
exactly...I can understand with the Draw against Maynard...but the rematch against Penn wasn't necessairy too imo !!
So Frankie edgar has 6 back to back fights against 3 opponents, thats absurd and killing the division.
The division is stacked and top champions like Penn and Edgar deserve their rematch. The UFC is way too anti-rematch sometimes. Fitch Penn, Rampage Machida etc all needed rematches for one reason or another. Guys like Diaz are only furthering their case. Diaz is next in line. Pettis-Maynard next.
They scheduled Fight-Penn II... but Fitch got injured, yeah Machida and Rampage could need a rematch. But there is now way Edgard deserve 2 rematch in a row ! The first one was more a rematch for Bj... !
The first one was BJ, the second one was for Maynard, it is only fair that the third one is for Edgar.
My thinking is that Penn didn't deserve a rematch he lost a clear decision he should have to go back and get a win or two against top contenders before another shot. It makes the division more exciting. The draw yeah sure rematch but of the 3 only 1 is necessary to me. Boxing can be **** at this but look at the super 6 kessler/Froch have a good close fight. Take time off go fight other guys come back and its a more interesting fight because of the fights they've had in the mean time. In a stacked division get everyone fighting everyone all the time.
I think Maynard would hold Pettis down, and ride him to a decision. I would like to see Maynard and Henderson as much as I would like to see any fight in the division, and it can be justified if Henderson wins or loses his next fight.
