I will list the ways to keep it simple. Much better than writing a big entry

    - More Viewership For Boxing & Fighters Involved
    # of HBO subscribers = 28.7 Million
    # of NBC subscribers = 96.2 Million
    # of SHO subscribers = 23 Million

    - More Opportunity To Make $$$$
Commercials between rounds/fights = shared revenue between nbc & whatever the boxing league is called... I forget the name

This is the biggest key right here IMO
    - Your fighting style will be more important than your record aka fighters with good followings can still lose and get dates
Since NBC has deeper pockets than HBO or Showtime, they don't have to spend as much time building fighters up and can send them straight into great matches as supposed to having to build a guy up to a PPV which has shown that PPVs sell better with undefeated opponents. As long as you get good viewership to sell the ads that happen during teh show, you'll get dates and get paid good $$$.

All and all Haymon will continue to have haters, he had a ****ty year last year because he had to keep guys on ice for this great relationship between NBC and his fighters to happen but you guys will see over the next few years how much this will help the sport of boxing.

I think the deal is a good thing. I think the only reason he had his fighters "duck" others last year was because he was saving these matchups for his NBC deal. Better for him in the long run.

Remember when everyone kept saying Guerrero is ducking Thurman? Or Garcia is ducking Peterson? Yea...

I think these 3 fights will end up being a tournament. for a big PPV on showtime for the two winners.

I've been critical of Haymon before, but I'm a fair mofo. He put the money up for the airtime, so how he fills it to generate ratings is on him.

My problem was when he was using his lackey Espinoza to waste Showtime's boxing budget in 2014, which is paid for out of subscriber revenues.

With this, Al pays for the platform to develop the fighters, and the marketplace will reward or punish him for matchmaking accordingly. This is a much more fair setup for everyone. Now, if he wants to schedule a mismatch showcase fight, it's not subscribers footing the bill- he is.

    Credit where it's due. :good

I'm cautiously optimistic about this. The big question is, will Haymon work with outside entities - promoters/networks/sanctioning bodies/etc - or is it in fact a de facto "Haymon League"?

If they actually work to make the best fights regardless of affiliation (at least within reason) for the purpose of growing the audience and making the ad dollars... then yeah this could be a big boon.

Only time will tell, I guess we will see. But for now I am refraining from shtting on it just because Haymon is involved and hoping for the best. Between Haymon and Jay-Z there is a lot of new corporate sponsorship coming to free airwaves this year.

The Throne Boxing/ROC debut was an OK boxing event, but one thing there gave me hope as well. Saw something I hadnt seen in boxing in a long time.... Budweiser. How long had it been since Bud was in boxing?

The problem is, the match-ups will probably not be very good ones.

since when do title fights matter with all the stupid belts that are out there? The title don't mean ****, we all know DSG is #1 at 140 and LP is a worthy opponent.

Poor showtime laid down with the haymon dog woke up with fleas and not one fight scheduled in 2015. Hayman is toxic.

Titles don't matter but the fight should be at 140. I am fine with a fighter moving up in weight but I don't care for catch weights. Is DSG the man at 140 or is he moving up to 147? Or is he going just float around at whatever weight between the two he finds most suitable? This is still a good fight but it should be at 140.

The fight is still a joke. We're so conditioned to being fed garbage that we happily lap this one up like it's some premium matchup. Add to that the fact it's supposedly at a catchweight and belts aren't on the line? :patsch:patsch
