He beats Murray, then regardless of what move does Cotto i.e fight Canelo, Floyd or whatever he does, the holder of that WBC mw title should defend it against his main challenger. Right ? Or vacate it.

Golovkin already has the mandate in hand to face the winner of Cotto next fight.

All he has to do is not lose the interim title, and someone shows up to the purse bid if it came to that.

GGG is smartly facing Murray in something of an eliminator for the WBC mandate.

Had GGG chose to fight his interim WBA titlist Chuddy, or even his own mandatory, Jacobs, the WBC COULD technically strip him of his interim status for not fighting Murray, the #1 rated contender to that title.

Now, once GGG gets Murray out the way, he can concentrate on other fights such as a unification with Taylor or Lee, or fight one of his top contenders in Jacobs or Chudinov.

We'll have to see how Suliman plays it out. He's angling for Canelo to get the WBC MW title, but I guess he wasn't counting on Rubio p!ssing in his cheerios by fighting GGG.:lol::lol:

Combine the pringles with the stuffing then patent and market the new concoction. It worked for peanut butter cups.

Regarding the thread: Cotto will never fight Golovkin, regardless of mandatory status.

I though the interim wbc title wasn't on the line anymore because Rubio didn't make weight!

Talk about an epiphany! It just sort of hit me, what many are saying about Golovkin really not having much if anything for him at 160 is so true.

He is going to burn through the rest of his prime trying to unify a not so great MW division that is Hell bent on avoiding him.

Cotto will duck him. Thats fine by me. Dont want to see a warrior who's ducked no one his entire career taking a fight he has absolutely no chance of not getting stopped

But he needs to give that belt to GGG. Thats GGGs belt. All this hostageing the belt BS is a disgrace

I'm pretty sure Cotto was granted a voluntary defense before facing his mandatory(GGG).

the sad thing is WBC probably would find an artifice, helping Canelo or Cotto if they don't want to fight GGG. Also if the fight will happen i.e Cotto - Canelo winner vs GGG, probably it would be @ c/w of 155 -157 lbs.:-(
